Even now I still love the energy of this song. Everything being reported in the news at the time was provoking a reaction within me but I had no one to really share these thoughts and frustrations with. I still really love the feeling  I get inside when I hear and play this song although, now a little older, I am no longer going off all the world one by one and have become a bit more tolerant and selective.

A message from JAH

I'm in the middle. I'm not yet 9 years old, but I already knew I was going to teach music even though I had only started playing at age 7. I would bring my friends inside and give them lessons on how to play Chopsticks and later, Heart and Soul. The family in the photo doesn't exist anymore, and hasn't for a long time.  Some of my family is still living, but there is absolutely no communication. There is only animosity and disrespect directed at me. At least that is how I feel. I'm alone.  There is no love or caring. Sad, isn't it? I gave up.

Growing up between 1954 and 1972, when I left home to go to school, I had no intention of moving back to my hometown.

I had a wonderful childhood. Children today don't experience the joy of being a child whose sole objective was being able to play outside with a dozen other neighborhood children. 

My parents were still kids when they got married right out of High School and had three babies in four years. My sisters did the same thing, never finding out who they were and what their talents were. Could I sell cars for 35 years? Never. We were just so different. There were many reasons that tore our family apart. My father turned to alcohol after his kids were grown,  in his 40's and was dead at 54. My mother couldn't maintain the family business herself and lost everything she had worked for and had nothing to show for it. I haven't talked to my sisters in years. They are angry at me for reasons I don't understand, and I gave up trying to figure it out. They don't even talk to each other. I don't know what it's like to have a sister. Are they lonely, too? Is it pride that stands in the way? Is it too hard to admit tha

Creating music is my way of understanding what I feel. It is my diary. From the time I was a young child I tried to play the music I could hear inside, but I couldn't. I didn't know how, and there was no one who could teach me that because they didn't know how to play their own music. It took a long time to understand, and I'm not yet quite there, learning how to play the piano from the inside out. It has changed the way I teach. Anyone can learn to read music, but only a few can actually hear their own music. I've written a lot of music for people as gifts and music for my own family, especially the newest babies. Number 5 great grandbaby is due in a few months. Hopefully, my music will be something they will keep and use it to always connect me to them.

I can't change what my sisters think of me. I believe it is regretful, but it is their choice, not mine. If my parents could have looked ahead and saw how we ended, how sad they would have been. When I uploaded this music to SC last night, I sat and cried, overwhelmed with hopelessnes of it. It is one thing to lose your family to death; quite another to lose them when while they still live.

Broken Family

August 1485: Richard Plantagenet (Richard III) is the last king of England to be killed in battle (he's the - "a horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse" guy in the Shakespeare play). Over 500 years later his body was re-interred in Leicester Cathedral having been discovered under a parking lot nearby. Always regarded as an evil murderous tyrant, recent studies reveal his 'hunch-back villain' image may have been exaggerated - mainly due to Shakespeare's portrayal. His spinal curvature, however was clearly verified when his skeleton was discovered...it's well worth visiting the city of Leicester to see for yourself!

Plantagenet Blues

This track was created as a reminder there may be a lot of people, places, things, or experiences in life that may come along to attempt to "drag us down..." or that "smell" or lend us to "feeling" like shite; but, we can always choose to simply wipe our arses and walk away from them, rather than roll around in them. Most dogs are smart enough to realize if they cannot eat it, play with it, or snuggle with it... they can simply pee on something and walk away. It's funny; yet not... some humans think "certain folks" should roll around in "pile of doo..." situations and/or don't see themselves while they're do(o)ing it.

This mindset is prevalent even amongst the spiritually gifted... (aka... anyone and everyone who is open to overcoming the entrainment systems that made each of us shut down those gifts innately within us through the exposure to physically and emotionally body and brain altering toxins... whether biologically, neurologically, or chemically sourced. Hint hint, biologically includes alterations and manufacturing of things permitted to be sold as "food" and/or "beverages..." especially within the continental USA.) 

It's time we each take responsibility for our own lives, stop believing others can "read our minds" or owe us anything other than honesty; (especially if we don't have the courage to directly converse about what we want, need, or desire in our lives,)and it's time we "adult" by speaking or emailing with one another healthily, rather than living like "eternal teenie boppers" who think revving car engines or "communicating" through the 80's mixed tapes or songs era behavior is "impressive," past junior high or high school. If we want anything in life, reach out and show vulnerability, otherwise, we haven't learned the ultimate covid lockdown lesson... "time and life are precious." Would you rather reach out and be rejected or... die or have the one you love die... where you then remain "what if" ing yourself for the rest of your life about "what might have been" regarding a possible relationship, or career option, or life you'd always dreamt of living? It's time to continue to roll in doo doo... or... wipe our arses and take the steps towards receiving the people, places, things, and experiences we claim we want in our lives. The same goes for those in marriages with so much discord, both parties cannot interact outside their homes without spreading misery and judgmental behavior; because they remain in relationships out of guilt or fear of "starting over." Stop teaching kids and grandkids to remain in loveless marriages or to endure abuse because you are too lazy or afraid to start anew! Divorces don't HAVE to be filled with animosity, nor greed! People simply grow differently, some not at all... and it leads to growing apart, sometimes. If not now, when? People cannot read minds. Masks off, hearts on sleeves. Be. Bold. Be. True. Be. You.

Rise Above

Road Maps is a blues-inspired song about a knight who did not go to the previous crusade and longed for the glory given to those who did and came back. The song follows his attempt to rendevous with a large military group he belongs to, but is late to the party; he meets interesting and colourful characters throughout his quest to take up arms, with each character symbolizing, codifying and exuding themes of honour, enchantment, potential, backstabbery, and cowardice. Once our character arrives at the battle scene he's been searching for, he sees his side has already lost and tries to slip away unharmed.

I’m happy to post this song with help from my first SC friend https://soundcloud.com/espere-verde, who encouraged me on to improve my music making from a very start. Good musician & draughtsman (he did this artwork too), his vocal performance here gave the mood I couldn’t to the song.

Technical highlights:

>Music & almost no vocals: Ruizzoidman
>Odd patterns hidden along three levels in this track: amalgamated psycho-hard coating, usual 7/2 in punk/ska intermediate parts, and finally the sweater core is structured in groups of five measures.

Lost Paradise

My music pieces are all piano improvisations expressing emotions. It is music telling stories without the words. In my earIy years I sang and played piano in piano bars or fronted bands of different styles, from country to heavy metal and to 40. I've been composing, teaching and performing most of my life.  I'm getting old(er) now 😔 but the great thing about creating music is it gets better the longer you play, and you have more to write about! 

This is what I leave of me to my generations to come who wonder where their desire to make music comes from. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother were both accomplished pianists when they were young. My son is also exceptional.  My great grandmother and gr grandfather sang and danced in minstrel shows (vaudeville) in the early 1900's. Kids today have no idea what life was like before moving pictures.  I now have great-grandchildren. They will know who I am through my music. When I am gone my music will still be here. What a wonderful thought!
