The title track, “Looped Mind,” kicks things off in style with it’s snappy drums, cinematic stabs, muted horns, and jazzy piano chords.  “AL” is up next, with its soaring melodies, echoing vocals, pummeling bassline, and rolling Amen drums.  The song progresses beautifully from beginning to end, delivering a special experience for the listener.  The EP is rounded out with the dark, track grooves of “Failure,” and the all out dancefloor burners, “Stop For A Wild,” and “Fightin’ For.”  Treex is truly one of the Unsung Heroes of the scene, and this selection of tracks is guaranteed to draw more praises for his monumental productions.

The Brighton based producer has been a mainstay on Soul Deep over the years, and has also released his impressive music on Med School, Phuzion, Jazzsticks, Advection, Flexout, and many other labels.  Static, is definitely one of those producers who deserves more notoriety for his work, as you will see from his stellar work on the Dreamer EP.  He has an unmatched ability to pick the perfect horn samples and key tones which perfectly compliment his divine compositions.  The extra love and passion he puts into his tunes are evident when the spine-tingling melodies are are effortlessly delivered through the speakers.  “Dreamer,” kicks things off in style, with it’s rolling Amens, sunny melodies, bouncy sub bassline, and chirping key embellishments.  The song is also highlighted by the cool vocal stylings of Nat James, who delivers some thoughtful rhymes, that pave their way right into the listeners soul.  “Your Soul,” offers up another Amen roller, complete with lush piano melodies, chilling female vocals, swirling efx, groovy sax samples, and a warm sub bassline, that fits the groove like a glove.  It’s only the 4th of January, but it can already be stated that this will be one of the top releases of 2021.  Bring on the new year, and feel good with some warm summer vibes from Static!

Brazilian based prouder, Subsid, teams up with L.A.’s, Scott Allen, to craft 4 unique tracks that perfectly blend their signature styles.  Subsid & Scott Allen have been forging their own tracks in their musical journeys, but thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work together on this project.  Both producers have enjoyed releases on Soul Deep, Smooth N Groove, Good Looking, Liquid V, and many others.  The Chasing Dreams EP is a rich body of work that shows off what can be done when two creative minds collaborate.  The EP kicks off with the title track, “Chasing Dreams,” which features punchy drums, lush key samples, funky sax samples, soulful vocals, and an edgy bassline.  “Undeniable,” takes the groove to the dancefloor with its groovy key samples, dramatic horns, soaring strings, and big 808 style bassline.  “If I Ever Hurt You,” is up next with its swirling guitars, rolling breaks, chunky bassline, and heart-felt vocals.  “One & Only,” finishes things off in style with its dreamy piano keys, Shimmering pads, crunchy breaks, and live sounding bassline. Intrigue Music return for their yearly compilation of groundbreaking drum & bass. This year the Bristol clubbing institution celebrates 18 years, and while there can't be a party to celebrate they deliver one of their best albums yet.

The label's now famous yearly compilations have become a shining example of the deeper drum & bass sound. The latest edition continues to push the sound forward, this year paying particular attention to new talent.
