431: a radio jawn | future soul dispatch ctr | from philly to the world

The 25-year old DJ and producer Lukinu was born in Berlin and has Angolan roots. As his family is musically gifted - both parents sung in an African choir - music has always been a fundamental part of his life.

When aged 9, he constantly tried to download the latest Angolan and Western music. He used to annoy his cousins with them, trying to impress.

From Bearshare to Emule - he searched every website to access the newest songs. In that sense it is a miracle, that the police didn’t search for him.

His musical influences are found in Ghetto Sound, Batida and Afrobeat but also in Contemporary and Alternative R&B, NeoSoul, contemporary dance music which reflects new and old aspects of diasporan music. To combine these, Lukinu and his
DJ-Colleague Dekkapa host the Event series „NoGhetto“ in Berlin. Furthermore, both guys produce their own Batida Beats.

Lukinu unites diverse, playful and innovative Sounds. Hecombines streams of music which first don’t seem to belongwith each other and through this brings people from differentbackgrounds together.

With his creative and energetic Charisma, he causes escalations in his crowd through his Mixes. He is not only a DJ but also an Entertainer - he knows how to let the music speak on his behalf. Lukinu invites his crowd to an open journey, in which they can fully give themselves to the music and let go to be free.
