I didn't get round to playing any tech step on this visit as I wafted around on the jazzier floatier end of the spectrum for longer than I thought. Made some mistakes for sure... Recorded live last year on the infamous Riverdance Boat Party. Unfortunately, PFM was unable to play due to illness, and he recommended me as his replacement. Luckily, I had already purchased a ticket and was planning to attend anyway. With just two weeks to prepare, I went through my atmospheric back catalogue on vinyl and selected some of my favourite tracks from that golden mid-'90s era. This one is dedicated to MC Conrad and, of course, the mighty PFM.

019 brings more off-grid music from Bigchoc. Few relatively new ideas, some older soundscapes that waited for the right moment to surface.

All of it still carries that Noble identity: raw, self-assured, and in no rush to explain itself.

Across these eight tracks, you’ll find flickers of paranoia (Snakes & Grassers), clarity (Internal Bliss), bounce (Bring The Funk), and fractured sentiment (Sending My Love). From the reptilian weight of Komodo to the space and silence of Blank Paper, each track moves its own way. Switchboard scrambles the signal; Get It Get Gone finishes the thought and exits without fanfare.

No formula. No confirmation. Just another chapter in ESAF’s ongoing refusal to play it safe.
