French label Zingiber Audio has over the past 10 years been ahome to some of house music’s rising groove exponents. Artists such as Ray Mono, Legit Trip, Lose Endz and of course label founder Cor100 have all produced tracks for this imprint.

While there may be elements of other sub genres sneaking into the mix somewhere along the line the deep shades always make their way to the top. My submission for the Holt 88 Remix Contest, I used samples from the Holt 88 Sample Pack along with the stamps from the Last Night track provided. I had a fun time working on this remix. I know its pretty weird but I tried to incorporate classic resampling techniques along this some interesting effects and my own style to create this remix. Thanks for listening. – SV

Angel Alanis & Maria Goetz featuring D.Vices - Shock EP [SubSensory Recordings //SSR115]

Hailing from the old Chicago / Midwestern electronic scene, Angel Alanis started DJ’ing at the age of 14 and released his first record in 1996. In the years since, he’s released on labels ranging from Tresor and Tronic to recent material on Chicago Jaxxx and Resource Records.

Maria Goetz is an American techno producer, DJ, and rabbit fanatic with a growing catalog of releases both solo and in collaboration with husband and partner in crime Angel Alanis. A neuroscience nurse practitioner by day and techno lover by night, Maria is not afraid to get weird.

“Shock” finds the duo exploring the intersections of electro and techno. The title track brings together elements of classic Detroit electro with the jackin’ attitude of Chicago house and techno, resulting in a fresh sound that we absolutely love. For the b-side, Angel and Maria team up with D.Vices to deliver a growly electro tune titled “The Best Way.”

Growing up in. Frankfurt , Andre was exposed to the sounds from Kraftwerk , Nucleus , Soul Sonic Force, Kurtis Blow and PAC Jam just to name a few from his late Father Randy Morales who was a dj from Hells Kitchen NY.  Every Friday night Andre’s father would religiously mix music and this was the beginning of Andre’s journey. 
     By the age of 9 while living on the island of Crete , Andre’s father brought him with to a local discotech as his mother was out of town and leaving him home was not an option. It was at then that Andre became interested in learning how to mix records all because of the pure joy he saw on his fathers face as he was behind the dj booth. 
     It would not be very long after this experience that Andre turned 10 and his father would  start to teach the basics of djing . 
     Fast forward to Christmas 1993 now living in Tampa ,Florida . Andre recieved his first Mixer a Gemini Scratch Master and was extatic to be able to use his fathers Denon cd players from Europe with the +\- pitch adjust but was denied as his father said that it would be turntables that would be what Andre would have to start on. 
This was 31 years ago almost to the date of writing this . 
     Fast forward to the late 90s where Andre would quite frequently visit the local record store Painted Puppy so much that he was offered a job. This was during a very incredible time for the music scene in Florida and at the age of 18 , Dre was opening for legendary DJs like Rick West , Icey , Fixx, RFresh , and Dj Magic Mike just to name a few . 
     Long story short this has always been a passion for Andre and it has never become a way to make money because then it would be considered a job. With many cool experiences through out the years he helped start the Krime Fyter brand with his good friends from back in the 7th grade days Cedrac and Abed Pompa believed in his vision of bringing together Hio Hop and electronic music around 2012.
