Crate Classics are a Grammy-nominated duo composed of London-based musicians Jamie Rodigan and Aaron Horn, who’ve been making music together under the moniker since 2019. The pair’s multi-faceted, genre-spanning approach to releasing music in this day and age is refreshing to say the least! Ghost Mode’ is their latest collaboration with fellow Londoner & songstress Catching Cairo, who was recently heralded as Rebecca Judd’s ‘Ascending Artist’ for 2022. This marks the first collaboration between the trio.

 “I met Cairo purely by chance in Peckham outside a bar,” Jamie told us. “We have a mutual friend who introduced us. We’re big fans of her work so when the chance meeting happened, we jumped at the opportunity to work with her. It’s a magical track and it’s been really fun working together on the project”. 

‘Ghost Mode’ gets going with chopped & screwed vocals coupled with luscious keys and pitched-up sub-bass.  This is followed by a swinging, staccato break and Catching Cairo’s haunting tones. The wistful delivery perfectly matches the disappointment of our narrator who is sick of being left out in the cold again. 

Whether you picture Boo or Casper, come and grab the hauntingly good ‘Ghost Mode’ landing in all good stores on Friday the 18th of March.

Building on the vibes from their recent efforts ‘Gotta Change’ and ‘Hold Tight Girl’, the EP sees the duo exploring a sound that temporarily abandons their usual melancholy, and draws inspiration from funked-out jungle grooves. After a breakthrough 2020 which saw FD cement himself as one of the go-to artists for sophisticated bassline science, the Londoner now returns, outdoing himself with A Vision Of Hope. The veteran Drum & Bass technician once again shows off his range, expertly weaving together Bristol inspired basslines, Jungle breakbeats and R&B melodies.   “Writing this EP was my chance to escape from all of the sadness and pain that 2020 bought us all, in all its myriad ways. Having the chance to be writing music and bury my head in the creative process was an absolute lifeline for me and something that made me feel good and happy and able to pretend for a moment that the bad stuff wasn't there” FD explains. “I've known for a long time that being involved with music makes me happy, but i maybe didn't realise that i can also use it as a positive force in my life to help work through the hard times too. It helped me keep a vision of hope. I hope this music can now do the same for others too.”
