For years now, an old recording of Jeffrey Sfire at Cocktail D'Amore's one and only cosmic hole was one of the highest references for us in terms of downtempo Italo sleaze - an almost 6 hours recording serving more like a PhD aural dissertation specialized in some of the most remarkable dancefloor digs (mainly Europe) had to offer in the 80s at under 115BPM. To be able to share it publicly on the HAND Mix Series as we reach number 50 is a huge honor and we're greatly thankful to Giacomo and Giovanni, the two cuties behind Discodromo that made this possible. We hope you can appreciate it as much as we have over these past years. Make A Dance is a duo made up of Ben Lewis & Josh Ludlow and best believe us when we say that they have been causing quite the ruckus. Their record label come party series has become a UK powerhouse releasing some of the best club music out there with a playful sense of self and dancefloor debauchery to boot.

As a duo they mix a broad assortment of house, disco, funk and beyond – blurring the lines between genres but always managing to maintain the soul and energy of a good party. Nothing too serious, nothing too dark.


 
At a time when the world ain’t so happy – they channel the feel good elements of a genre which can often take itself far too seriously and we can safely say that we’re here for it.

This mix demonstrates why they are two of the most fun in the booth at the moment as they whiz through a heady assortment of House, Disco, Italo, Balearic and beyond.

I feed fragments of past compositions into AI to generate, remix, and reinterpret them as an infinite stream of slop. I also reverse-play the process, shaping outputs by hand.
As the machine shifts through styles with only a partial grasp of the original, it may offer a glimpse into how we can engage this inevitable technology in a more sensuous and playful way. slop.is
