Flori’s Life Signs marks the eighth release for Voyage and the UK artists debut for the label. An ode to the unexplored landscapes of Mars, Flori uses a refined aesthetic, not dissimilar to the original star gazers of Detroit, to imagine and encapsulate the reality of being alone on Point Lake. Two driving explorations, accompanied by a pensive ambient excursion, Life Signs takes Flori and Voyage into the areocentric orbit of our closest terrestrial neighbour.

Life Signs is accompanied by a full sleeve interpretation from Melbourne’s Sam Donaldson.

Time Zones is the dance music project of Dan Gentile and Jack Murphy. The two began making music together in 2014 while living in Austin, Texas. Their work is rooted in the appreciation of soulful house music and dollar bin disco singles.

The Vibe Shack EP wears its influences on its chipboard sleeve. Crackling litigation-worthy samples loop over an assembly of live (read: non-quantized) tracked instruments, including a Korg PolySix, Roland JX-3P, modular synthesizer, and a broken x0xb0x, giving each track that lively, human touch. Also included is a punchy Unknown FM remix of the title track. The tunes have been mastered hot by Benoit D at Perception Mastering for maximum dance floor impact.

Thoughtful and understated, the Vibe Shack EP combines witty sample-work, live instrumentation, and analog synthesis to create 4 sonic collages. By marrying 70’s soul and disco samples with more subtle classic house themes, live bass and keys, Time Zones’ take on a familiar palette manifests as fresh, inventive, and playful.

Sound Transitions is very proud to present a heavy hitting EP from Efxka. The EP, entitled Spleen EP, is five tracks of precise yet emotional deep house. Efxka knows how to set a real mood and her talents are on full display throughout. Demonstrating excellent skill at taking the listener on a journey, Efxka uses simple and extremely effective combinations of chords to transport you to wherever she wants you to be. Once you're there, she assures that your hips will be moving in time with her thumping kicks and slithering bass lines. Everything appears glossy on the surface, but dig a little deeper and you'll find an unsated feeling of longing, loss, nostalgia, and dare we say even a bit of joy.
