He got away with murder most of the time; all he had to do was get on the charm offensive and any negative feelings towards him seemed to disappear. Some would say it was a skill, one perfected through years of practice - sometimes he could wriggle out of situations with just a smile and a wink. It was inevitable that at some point he wouldn't get off so lightly, a time would come where he'd overstep the mark and the world would come crashing down around him.

For the second release on his Dynamics Of Acid imprint MOY joins forces with mystery man Zodiac Childs for a split EP that explores the pair's shared love of electro, breaks and hardcore. Separately the pair have notched up EPs for Nocta Numerica, Batrachian, Exalt Records, Further Electronix and their own labels, and now they're coming together to each share an original cut backed up by a remix of one another's work. Packed full of anthemic melodies, acid madness and thunderous bass, the four tracks showcase the synergy between the two artists and their knack for capturing the euphoria of the 90s.

Gladio Operations launches its fifth release, which bears 
the signature of the excellent Russian producer Larionov. Dmitry is one of the new talents asserting himself and one of the most promising on the European Electro scene, having worked with renowned labels such as Craigie Knowes and Hilltown Disco, among others.

On his Gladio debut, Larionov gifts us with ‘Lost Alien’ an EP permeating with well-constructed electro sounds, where ‘Lost In Space’, an awesome energetic track, opens the pack. ‘Lost In Space’ is accompanied by an additional remix by the owners of the UHF label, on which they delve into EBM terrain, offering a contrasting approach to the original cut.

Onthe B side, we encounter ‘Alien Friend’ where upon we perceive compact and well-moulded sounds, accompanied by an aggressive bassline, very characteristic in the productions of the Russian artist.

The EP closes with ‘System Error’, a wild and powerful track that will no doubt stimulate your sets in any demanding club.

Info: Image Research is excited to present a new suite of songs from label stalwart, Hoverist. As one of IR’s founding releases in 2021, ‘Universal Veil’ set the tone with its timeless soundscapes and displaced electronics, embedded in a deep love and appreciation for 90’s IDM.

Flash forward to ‘Expansion Chamber’, the newest offering from the producer which dials in a more rhythmic approach to an already expansive and rich palette. Where ‘Universal Veil’ covers like a warm blanket, ‘Expansion Chamber’ cuts like a knife with a sheen of precision and attention to detail. Genre-bending with fluidity and poise to astonishing results.

There is an uplifting clarity to each of the 4 tracks, that unfold deeply and differently with each listen. Clockwork percussion, emotive synth-work, and an endless supply of chopped and refracted acid sequences combine to entrance and catapult physical movement.

Initially, with a bunch of loops and synths, I began this sonic expedition, unsure of the destination and oblivious to the journey's end, as I crossed cosmic territories inhabited by celestial creatures.

This album/LP/call-it-whatever-you-want was conceived as continuous sound journey, i.e. I took inspiration of the previous track to make the next one! Also, you'll find a Bandcamp link if you liked it and would like to support my work!

@baster-jazzster is a DJ, a member of the formations Excellent, Metamorphoses, and Amateur Exotic, as well as a resident of @opium-underground. His selections regularly play in the most iconic places for music lovers and lively spots for party-goers, where good taste is highly valued.

This set was recorded in early March at the "Touch" party in Blanc club. "The mood was for interesting dances, eclecticism, and various genres. The mix includes new artists from Brazil and forgotten old tracks."

I built this track around a Jupiter-8 synth line that runs throughout, setting a dark, haunting tone. Even before adding any other instruments, I knew the track would be called “You Can’t Hide” because the melody carried such a somber, almost unsettling presence. 

As I layered in the rest of the instruments, I still felt something was missing and this is when I came up with a vocal sample in the second half of the track. I’ve always been drawn to working with vocal samples and often incorporate them into my productions. Having written songs and sung in the past, I am fascinated by the many ways the voice can be transformed and reused in music. In this track it definitely adds some extra dynamics, making “You Can’t Hide” a perfect electro track for dark dance floors.
