Acid Washed is a collective process primarily, deteriorating sounds amongst souvenirs, friends, home studios and analogue equipment. Swiss dj and producer Plastique De Rêve hails from Geneva and has just returned home after 20 years living in Berlin.

Born in Australia, raised to 70s electronic disco and his parents’ Kraftwerk records in the outskirts of Nairobi, then to DAF, new wave and EBM back in Europes' 1980s, Plastique has been fascinated by electronic sound since childhood and dabbling into electronic music since 1984 !!

After several live EBM and experimental performance groups, then acid, techno and early rave projects, contemporary art installations and KLF-inspired performances across the 90s, Plastique released two 12” electro bombs on International Deejay Gigolo Records at the beginning of this century, which helped him to become one of the pioneering names of the Swiss electro scene.

After the highlight of the Gigolo era, Plastique moved on with releases on other top international labels such as Turbo, Mental Groove, Kitty Yo, or DFA. His electro, disco, breakdance and acid house influenced productions have been played and playlisted by many top djs across the world.

Today Plastique De Rêve lives and works between Berlin and Geneva, as ever into futuristic electro, techno, acid house and cosmic disco, but also weird ambient soundtracks for film, installations and performances.

Plastique is also one half of cosmic disco duo NOO signed to Optimo Music Disco Plate, and has just released the first album of an ambient side-project called Ange Du Bizarre.

Since 2019 he is also co-host and producer of the Sound Of The System radio shows on Berlin's independent station reboot.fm, together with Andrew Claristidge (Acid Washed).

born in 1976. From the age of 10 i loved long and special mixes Like the Bolero Mix and Max Mix. I was a DJ in the Techno and Trance revolution in the early 90's. 


At the end of the 80's there was disco music 88 House and the underground started 91 Techno started 93 Trance started 95 Rave breakbeat dance and today it sounds the same for 30 years there are no more sound revolutions

Use Knife is the exciting result of the raw synergy between Iraqi vocalist and percussionist Saif Al-Qaissy—who fled war-torn Iraq—and Belgian musicians Kwinten Mordijck and Stef Heeren, known for their passion for analog synths and organic wind instrumentation. 

The band tell a necessary tale of freedom, responsibility and the gulf between the Eastern and Western mindset. Even the instrumentation itself reflects this constant friction; intuitively muddling distorted industrial textures and jerky EBM pulses with brittle Iraqi rhythms and tonalities, Use Knife devise their own distinct harmony against the dissonant global backdrop. 

Debut album 'The Shedding of Skin' (2022) received critical acclaim by The Quietus, Mixmag and Knack Focus, a.o.. They played at festivals such as Le Guess Who?, Sonic City, Videodroom, Grauzone, Botanique, Worm, Wrong Fest, Roadburn, Suoni Per Il Populo, Wave-Gotik-Treffen and We Are Open a.o.

Additionally, ‘Peace Carnival’ was released on Morphine Records —a 10” remix EP featuring tracks from the debut album reinterpreted by Muqata’a مقاطعة, Zoë Mc Pherson, and Rabih Beaini.

Their new album ‘État Coupable’ (March 2025) is mixed by Jerusalem in My Heart's Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, who also created the contrasting ambient 2nd part of the title track, while New York based engineer Heba Kadry (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Nicolás Jaar) handles the mastering. Nihiloxica’s drummer Spooky-J, also laid down a post punk beat on first single ‘Freedom, Asshole’.

Youniss Ahamad crafted Use Knife’s distinct visual language, evoking rawness through direct and distorted imagery, and developed scenography and visuals that truly enhance their live show, creating “an all-embracing vortex that allows those experiencing it to plunge, headfirst, into a hypnotic state that veers between a dreamlike trance and a sensual workout.” (The Quietus)

Their radio show ‘Feeding The Gentry’ airs monthly on Palestinian Radio Alhara.
