In her own words:
"Putting it together and recording it [this mix] was quite an interesting experience for me. It's the first time I've used four decks to record a guest mix. My aim was to delve into the concepts of unpredictability, uncertainty, and randomness, so I layered a myriad of sounds and loops to achieve that effect. 

Lately, I've been reading a lot about those notions and getting into the idea of letting go of control and embracing life's mysteries. Creating your own reality can be challenging, especially in a structured society (or the illusion of structure, you know how it goes). This mindset has been seeping into my music and sets, and I'm really digging the direction it's taking me."

Somewhere lurking under the last leaves on the ground, squirming and squelching with the mycelium and microorganisms, we find Timnahs sonic world tucked away in a sacred place. Taking inspiration from the natural world, she has solidified a name for herself as a purveyor of psychedelic rhythms and carefully curated cacophonies. As a resident at the renowned Elysia club in Basel, she has honed her skills further and expanded her sound into ambient and experimental territories. 

This edition of Unrush is a testament to Timnah's ear for the uncanny and sense for crafting a dynamic narrative. Solemn drones guide us like a soft breeze into the winter months, only interrupted by washes of organic textures and subtle electronics. We hope you enjoy this masterful mix from one of Switzerland's finest.

The musical selection is all about soundtracks that intermingle to create a special score for the occasion. The idea of giving the audience a cinematic experience was well received by a fantastic audience, with a high (and gratifying) commitment, love, and respect towards music and its transmitters. This small perpendicular community let itself be enchanted by this blind film, and it was wonderful. This set was recorded live at Springkell in November of 2023 - a special gathering of artists, audiophiles and friends in a Scottish castle, with 3 non-stop days across 2 rooms, of ambient, techno and experimental music. For the past 3 years it has been a supreme annual highlight to attend as a guest, and last November I was honoured to be invited to play there for the first time.

The set was recorded early on the final evening of an icy cold weekend, so I looked to build the energy as we entered the final phase of the musical programme. A blend of new cuts and old classics.

Camu is next up on our Podcast series with a bewitching recording from last years Springkell gathering. The setting is a dim lit, softly furnished room of a Scottish rural estate with a fireplace gently crackling and whispering into the space. Everyone is quiet, sitting or laying still and diving into the sounds emanating from all four corners of the room, fully immersed in the ritual of communal listening 🐚

Camu is a Spanish born and based artist pulling at the deeper strings of ambient, drone and sound art informed electro-acoustic music. He is the co-founder of Madrid-based event space Especio Perpendicular that he co-runs with local group of fellow deep music enthusiats. Highly recommended for anyone in or visiting Madrid and looking for a night out of the ordinary 🌚✨

Charging headstrong into the cavernous spaces filled with drones, overheard field recordings, sounds hanging in earshot by the faintest thread, this journey is at the same time fragile and powerful. The dynamics flow with intent from barely audible to overwhelming, from fluid to abrasive, no stone left unturned in this microscopic survey of sound and emotion 🕯️
