Olmo Rodríguez, known as Tevor Handa (@tevorhanda) from Sevilla, Spain, embarked on his electronic music journey in the year 2000, drawing inspiration from iconic bands such as The Chemical Brothers, The Durutti Column, or Kraftwerk. His DJ career, spanning 19 years, he initially explored the realm of house rhythms but swiftly unearthed his true passion within the classic techno genre. From that pivotal moment onwards, Tevor Handa's evolution as a DJ took a more serious and professional trajectory, infusing his sets with a technical and profound essence. Today, his Techno mixes are revered for their unwavering solidity, characterized by deep, hypnotic, and cerebral soundscapes that make a lasting impression, often extending into immersive extended mixes.

For our 11th instalment we've invited Imox, a Barcelona based DJ and co-founder of Sub Radio. 

Her sound transports us to the atmospheres and natural landscapes of the island of her childhood, accompanied by hypnotic grooves, tribal elements and cosmic textures, a progressive journey through unknown dimensions with overwhelming intensity.

This one-hour mix is a recording of her opening the night before the italian wizard Donato Dozzy at Human Club Barcelona. 

'A lot of inspiration for this set comes from the great maestro Dozzy, although I also tried to follow my instinct and feelings of the moment to create it with my personal touch' is what Luna said about this opening.

EMC welcomes Nocturnal Phase

Ernesto Bellicini aka Nocturnal Phase is a sound artist and electronic music producer based in Milan. His practice ranges from the study of the surrounding sound environment in order to create sound dramaturgies; lately also using spatialized audio systems; to the production of IDM and Breakcore music that he plays in his live shows.
He released his works for Vertical Music (In collaboration with Gaia Ginevra Giorgi and Vittoria Assembri), Fango Radio Editions @user-504256706 , Opal Tapes, @thesilverywater and Soft Verse.
His works also include radio dramas that have been broadcast on radio stations such as NTS, Fango Radio and @narr-radio.
For this occasion Nocturnal Phase put together a sound collage constituted by rack instruments, samples, and field recordings collected during years.

What a perfect way to drift into autumn this year, by welcoming Inbuilt Obsolescence to Bloom Loops for our end of September edition, with a specially composed and recorded 1hr live performance. 

IO is the long term musical project and brain child of duo Owain Arthur and David Kemp, who have most recently been hosting a monthly live guest series (Cosmic Render) at London's Next Door Records. 

Plug in to be taken on a deeply emotive and heartfelt hour long journey, that ebbs and flows across psychedelic, still and propulsive musical landscapes. 

In their own words: "Inspired by that feeling of post-summer nostalgia, we wanted to make something which brought across the feeling of searching through memories and realising something new on this journey."

Recorded with an array of instruments into Ableton, in the living room and mastered in the studio.

新潟県で開催されたLabyrinth festival 2009の３時間セットの中の一部だよ。レコーディングしてくれたイベントクルーに感謝しているよ。
 

ーミックスに自身の曲を使用していますか？

いや僕らの曲は使っていない。僕らの好きなレコードと、あとは友人からのアンリリーストラックだよ。
 
 
ーこのミックスのコンセプト、またはアイデアを教えてください。
 
僕らの後に控えるDonnacha Costelloのアンビエントセットにお客さんを繋ぐため、出だしはゆっくりと上げていき、テクノのよりダークな部分を開拓しつつ、終わりはダウンビート・アンビエントでゆっくりと着地させた。  お客さんと会場のお陰で、僕らとても良いインスピレーションを貰えたよ。  僕らは大自然の中で、本当にエレクトロニック・ミュージックが好きな日本人とインターナショナルなクラウドと一体になったよ。  だからあとはもう流れるままにやるだけ。  ダンスフロアから見える顔の表情や笑顔を見ながら、僕らのフィーリングと感情に従うだけ…レコードバックからレコードが勝手に飛び出すようにして自然と選曲したよ。ただ単純にすばらしかった。
 
―近況と最近の活動について教えてください。

今 僕らはナポリにある小さなホームスタジオで数曲制作をしている。僕らが作っている曲はそれぞれ本当に違う個性があるんだ。僕らがエレクトロニック・ミュー ジック好きとして今日までに受けたそれぞれ違う影響によるそれぞれ違ったスタイルだ。できればこの何曲かが将来リリースされることを望んでいるよ。
 
 
―今後の活動予定を教えてください。
 
実はもっとギグ数を増やしたいんだよね。僕らが好きな音楽をプレイする機会を作ることが、常に良いインスピレーションを保てる唯一の方法なんだ。残念ながら近い将来僕らは町から離れてしまうかもしれないけど。ここのクラブシーンは結構大人しいから、もっと音作りと出演回数を保持できる場所を探そうと思っているよ。
