The inaugural and first edition of a monthly series of mixes that I’ll be dropping on Soundcloud. 1st edition recorded by myself, and future ones to feature other friends and lovely musical legends. This one I whole heartedly dedicate to LDL, and the ongoing musical inspiration they provide me on a daily basis.  

Hoping this can blow away your blue Monday blues, with some soothing sounds moving into pumpin’ spacey beats, across a variety of BPMs.

Our second edition comes from Berlin based TLK, with another eclectic slice of lush beatless soundscapes, creamy smooth house & deep techno. Designed for home listening. 

Our sommelier recommends a glass of the beaujolais and the fritto misto.

BLOOMLOOPS 002 | TLK - Feb' 2024

An exploration of springtime sounds and textures, with a particular focus on rain, sunshine and choo choo trains. Inspired by the first weeks of March, meandering through London, watching the blossoms ignite.

Another traverse from quiet, beatless and spacey soundscapes, into deeper and pumpin’. Pack you cagoule, and have a wander. 

Recorded in the studio on a pair of beaten up CDJs and a well used mixer.

BLOOMLOOPS 003 | JJ - Mar' 2024

Paduan | 004

Let’s all take an amble down the ambient pathway with Paduan. Amsterdam based, and host of monthly radio shows on South London’s Balamii. His sets are often filled with drone, subtle melodies and organic textures. 

This recording gradually meanders from beatless, unsettling beginnings towards a lush, downtempo and dubby destination. Perfect for bright spring mornings.

BLOOMLOOPS 004 | Paduan - Apr '24

Recorded live at the first Rebloom on Saturday 11th May, a party series in London that celebrates deeper minded music. The first instalment was hosted at Avalon in South Bermondsey on a scorcher of a sunny day. 

This set was recorded quite early on in the programming, and an opportunity to transition from the ambient soundscapes played by the ever charming Tolly Odd, and try to lay a foundation for Shoal, Laura BCR and Ario who played later on in the evening.

BLOOMLOOPS 006 | Tolly Odd - June 2024

For July’s edition of Bloom Loops, we are thrilled to welcome Escap Verte. Escap will be taking us on a delightful meander across still sun-soaked soundscapes, contemplative sonic vistas and more abstract experimentations; into dubby swaggering 120, chuggy rollers and the broken-esque beats that are a cornerstone of the prolific output from the Ecke Records label. 

This mix features some newly produced and unreleased material from this new solo project and friends, alongside some forthcoming/fresh bangers and deep cuts of old. Put together with love and tenderness.

BLOOMLOOPS 007 | Escap Verte

This set was recorded live at Springkell in November of 2023 - a special gathering of artists, audiophiles and friends in a Scottish castle, with 3 non-stop days across 2 rooms, of ambient, techno and experimental music. For the past 3 years it has been a supreme annual highlight to attend as a guest, and last November I was honoured to be invited to play there for the first time.

The set was recorded early on the final evening of an icy cold weekend, so I looked to build the energy as we entered the final phase of the musical programme. A blend of new cuts and old classics.

BLOOMLOOPS | 008 JJ @ Springkell '23

What a perfect way to drift into autumn this year, by welcoming Inbuilt Obsolescence to Bloom Loops for our end of September edition, with a specially composed and recorded 1hr live performance. 

IO is the long term musical project and brain child of duo Owain Arthur and David Kemp, who have most recently been hosting a monthly live guest series (Cosmic Render) at London's Next Door Records. 

Plug in to be taken on a deeply emotive and heartfelt hour long journey, that ebbs and flows across psychedelic, still and propulsive musical landscapes. 

In their own words: "Inspired by that feeling of post-summer nostalgia, we wanted to make something which brought across the feeling of searching through memories and realising something new on this journey."

Recorded with an array of instruments into Ableton, in the living room and mastered in the studio.

BLOOMLOOPS 009 | inbuilt obsolescence (Live)

We round up the debut year of Bloom Loops, and kick off the next chapter in 2025 with a b2b from Rebloom residents JJ & Tolly Odd. 

Settle down for 4 hours of blissful, drifting ambient, downtempo, and field recordings. Recorded live at the Sauna Social Club as part of the Rebloom takeover back in September 2024. 

A perfect way to ease you in to 2025, and soothe the body and soul following the festive period.

BLOOMLOOPS 012 | JJ & Tolly Odd

It's a real honour to welcome a friend and prolific DJ and Producer, Dan Thorman to the Bloom Loops hot seat this month - with a happy flashback to those pre-summer feelings of excitement. This set was recorded live at an Amoenus Sonic Garden event at The Bath House in Hackney Wick, back in the middle of May 2024.

Settle in to 3 gorgeous hours of blissfully textured gentle bangers, filled with subtle movement and delicate rhythms. Although this has more of a home-listening focus, Dan brings a dancefloor sensibility to the set that was felt on the day. 

In Dan's words: "It was awesome to hear the music on such a beautiful sound system on a sunny and warm late-spring evening. So great to see people stepping out of the beanbags at various points, to embody the music"

BLOOMLOOPS 010 - Dan Thorman @ Sonic Garden

As the final rusty leaves tumble from the trees, nights draw in around us, and the cloak of darkness drifts towards our doors - we welcome the inexorable and unique talents of Lynne to the Bloom Loops hot seat. 

Now based in London, Lynne brings a truly unique and individual sound to her mixes, weaving together the outer realms of techno, experimental dance music, and drum 'n' bass with textural layers that twist together genres and pull dancers in all the right directions.

This hour-long recording seamlessly blends experimental soundscapes, with steppy 140bpm groovers. With unpredictable breaks and evolving soundscapes, listeners are invited to reflect, move, and lose themselves in the quiet beauty of autumn’s final days. Ideal for late-night introspection or a walk under the dimming sky. See it as a quiet goodbye to the season’s golden hues

Fhionbarra has reignited the Bloom Loops mix series for 2025 with an intriguing exploration at 160 BPM. 

This first mix of the year blends deep dub, driving drum and bass rhythms, and pulsating techno grooves, incorporating leftfield, experimental sounds and field recordings to beguile, groove and soothe. 

A journey through experimental beats and intricate textures, as always Fhionbarra's selection is a forward-thinking and genre-blurring ride. Perfect for those who seek the unexpected within the realms of bass-heavy, polyrhythmic music.

A celebration of the most vibrant spring in recent memory. 

A lucid dream-like journey, recorded beside a stream in the beauty of the Calder Valley. Resident of ambient leaning artistic collective 'resonance', adam presents a glimpse of resonance in West Yorkshire for our springtime Bloom Loops sonic journey. 

Beside a quiet and peaceful spring between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, adam has incorporated field recordings of 'the pond', blending these with a selection of deep listening ambient tracks, and otherworldly field recordings of springtime. The running waters of the valley, the birds, bees, and a bunch of friends.

adam is a key member of the resonance crew - a network of gifted souls who produce journeys between light, sound, and setting with their local community as well as showcasing the gifted artisans and the magic of the valley to events further afield, most recently in London and Manchester.

BLOOMLOOPS 014 - resonance w/ adam

For this special edition of the Bloom Loops podcast, we're honoured to welcome Ario — founder and curator of the acclaimed Astral Industries label. Widely respected for its impeccable curation and timeless releases, Astral Industries has carved out a unique space in the world of ambient and experimental electronic music, with each release offering a meticulously crafted sonic journey.

In this recording, Ario brings that same curatorial sensibility to the decks, guiding us on a deep and expansive journey. It begins with a psychedelic abduction to another world, and as the mix gradually unfolds you emerge into an expansive world of progressive and vintage tech house before dissolving into deep, swirling tribal techno. True to Ario's refined aesthetic, it is a set that balances both introspection and propulsion. 

Recorded in Hong Kong, at a secret location, this mix is a teaser for the upcoming Rebloom event on Saturday 17th May—where Ario will return to the Rebloom booth for our birthday celebrations, with a special closing set.
