"Affekt Unit is the new collaboration between Philoxenia Records founders Luigi Di Venere and Neu Verboten.Under this moniker they blend their musical obsessions, rooted in Italo house, Frankfurt EBM-house and trance.

We’re delighted to host this exciting and electrifying hybrid sound on their debut EP ‘Dust Off’ !

Diving deep into the excellent EBM sous acid vs downtempo trance trip offered by ‘The Struggle’ and ‘Dust Off’, it’s clear that both are in total control of their subject.

And it goes on with the more speedy-techno meets celestial trance ‘My Spirit’, a nod to Transcultural Shamanism "which is the true core of what raves, festivals and clubs are : moments of detachment from reality as well as places of sharing across cultures", as Luigi explains.

'Loon In Moon' is the super trippy and catchy tune of the EP, where once again Luigi's voice can be heard, whispering’ My Thumb instead of an onion’, words taken from a poem by the late American poet & novelist Sylvia Plath.

Throughout the whole experience offered by Affekt Unit, we dig into their common influences, and take pleasure in finding lots of clever ideas & elements added into the mix. The true force of these 4 tracks is that they never derail from the main goal, keeping an infectious groove going on and on and on."

Nghtly - Dispersione Emotiva [Khonix]

Immediately arresting, an aural assault providing little breathing space for the listener, the sound of anthropomorphised machines being dragged through the heathen earth, @autumns remixes @jt-whitfield’s ‘Reclusion Talks’, a track which originally appeared on a Clan Destine Records cassette release, ‘Coated and Submersed’. The filtered influence of Karl O’Connor is perhaps unsurprising, given Autumns’ connection to his Downwards label, but this is an industrial techno beast with much of its own originality – and for all the introductory talk about noisy music making you think about the troubles of the world, it’ll also be bloody fun to hear out on a dark, sweaty dancefloor.
