Right before this session I got some news that bummed me out. As soon as I started playing and friends started showing up in the chat I felt at ease. I ended up really enjoying myself. First  hour was deep but driving at times into some chunkier jazzier liquid rollers. Around the 2 hour mark I switched gears into some percussive, drum-forward dubby rollers. The rest of the 2nd hour really flew by for me. I  think I played mostly tech-edged minimal and then tried to end on a lighter, floaty kind of note. S/O to my LLL crew who keep showing up week in and week out as well as a few new "faces". Very strong showing this week; thank you guys for hanging with me.

The Distance (Sw3rv3 - Mobile Unit) Live Drum and Bass Session

Sw3rv3 delivers a solid double drop this week with two different flavor mixes. This one on more of a smooth laid back vibe, dropping some nice kick back energy peppered with a few jazzy and soulful tunes to keep it tasty. Nice seamless mixing on this one, keeping the vibrations and keys evolving throughout the session. Dropping in a bit of meditation from Bachelors of Science for good measure and finishing of with a solid set of verbage from Sw3rv3 favorite MC Verbz. Unexpected Journey (Sw3rv3 - Mobile Unit) Live Liquid DnB Session

Sometimes I have little time to vet, sort and update playlists with new music I want to play on LLL. But as an obsessive music collector, part of the fun is diving back into the old archive to pull out older tracks or even revisit ones I've avoided playing before for whatever reason. This particular LLL session has a good grip of new stuff in there, but also some gems from a few months to a couple of years ago. All of it got thrown in the blender. Upbeat driving liquid with some darker liquid, into some minimal rollers and some runnin' dubby stuff, deep tech rollers, sc-fi liquid bops, and some uplifting sounding stuff at the end. Still amazed how the character of a track changes shape when framed in a new context...

Re:Circulation is a new mix series which will feature older tunes that either never made it onto a Body&Soul mix, or classics that did but I want to revisit and revive them by mixing them with different tracks, and also there will be a few new tunes (mostly when none of the tunes in my library will fit!). Circulation was the first Body&Soul mix, so the title seemed fitting lol. I have a good bit of tunes that just didn't fit in (it's the land of misfit tunes!) and kind of got left on the backburner, but they're great tunes, so they aren't "rejects" lol. FYI! Enjoy the mix. My day job has been keeping me busy —a true blessing— but consequently I've had little time for my usual weekly ritual of music vetting and archiving. Like every good DNB snob, I like to obsess over brand new releases to play on LLL. This week was the first time in about a year that I didn't do any significant prep, just dove right in and started playing. Of course I do still have dozens of older self-curated playlists ready, but I was still pleased with how I was able to navigate this set for 2 hours and keep some decent vibes rolling along. Starts off with some rollin liquid and soulful rollers, then bounces back and forth with some techy rollers. Some jungle and deep jungle type stuff around halfway, rounded out by some deep tech and party vibe rollers and going with deep heady rollers towards the end.
