A debut original EP to proudly represent his sound, Danny Lloyd and his "Espejismo" lit up the early summer months with a trio of works. Now returning to the EP, two new reworks pit the wits of French, Australian and Italian talents.

A recent twin-track original EP to their names for Particles in the shape of "Spirals", French national, Rick Pier O'Neil and Australian, Desaturate, have already made considerable impressions with their music; O'Neil's long-serving history within the dance music industry reaching heights most modern producers can only dream of. Having worked for Sony Music, Universal and Motown, and with such artists as Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz, Rick Pier O'Neil's move into the underground dance arena carried considerable risk.

However, success through his own RPO label and beyond with support from a host of luminaries including Carl Cox and Steve Lawler, has seen the Mexico based artist triumphant. Australian, Desaturate, whose Progress Inn alter-ego has provided considerable success over a seven-year period and whose production credits can be found on regarded imprints: Dopamine, Vapour and Suffused Music, has seen Janko Dragovic provide a slice of progressive house style that has translated well to the Particles catalogues. Now working alongside the Frenchman, the Rick Pier O'Neil and Desaturate remix of Lloyd's title track has seen the pair take "Espejismo" on an uptempo path with its driving rhythmic bed providing ample energy. A hypnotic flow sees the track pass in the blink of an eye and effortless percussive groove and melodic interplay has dynamism and vibrancy apparent in equal measure. Clever use of Lloyd's original components, including the airy vocal phrases, adds further to a superbly executed remix.


An Italian producer well known for his production work with fellow countryman, Laben, from as early as 2001, Andrea Cassino soon found his work signed to the likes of Armada, Babylon and Tilth Music, supported by luminaries: Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. 2009 saw a break away from Cassino's production partnership with Laben as solo work began to take on renewed importance and his work began to shift organically to a newer tech house oriented sound.

A regular on Sonic Union's Lowbit imprint, Andrea Cassino's work has been further allied to Balkan Connection and Soundteller while a burgeoning production relationship with Danny Lloyd himself has seen the pair release a clutch of original works for KumQuat, Lowbit and Kunai. A trio of remixes for Alessandro Diga, Lateral Cut Groove and Simos Tagias comprises Cassino's work for Particles thus far as he returns now to rework, "Viajando en REM". Retaining and reinventing the groove so apparent in Lloyd's original, Andrea Cassino supplies a wealth of additional production material in rhythm and percussive sections to set up an intelligent use of original components as samples from the original delicately wash over the mid and upper frequency ranges.

Two new remixes from a trio of impressive modern producers is no mirage as Danny Lloyd should be under no illusion that "Espijismo" will succeed once again.

Springa - Syllables EP [Suffused Music, SMD127]

The 127th release on Suffused Music welcomes Springa back to the label for his third appearance. The Swedish producer and one half of the long standing Inkfish production duo delivered a remix of Josel's 'Consequences' which was released back in April of 2015. The track was then later showcased on the label's momentous 100th release collection in August of last year. Now Springa returns presenting his debut single entitled 'Syllables' alongside remixes from Micah, Namatjira and Ronfoller.

The release begins with the original mix and finds Springa crafting a modern day progressive classic. It's a journey that unfolds over nearly 11 minutes, beginning with a two minute intro setting the stage for a band of raspy synths and tough beats. Vocal overlays combine with indistinct wails for a haunting beginning before flowing through a transition of heartfelt chord changes. The vocal narrative then continues, assaulting your senses every step of the way before initiating the main break. Alien-like designs dominate the short interlude before a stripped down return begins the rewarding third act jaunt. With a bevy of emotional moments, highlighted by blissful synths and another dazzling vocal array the exhilarating climax would have to be finest moment of Springa's solo career. 

The first interpretation of 'Syllables' is provided by Micah who is making his debut appearance on Suffused Music. With over 15 years in the underground, the Calgary, Canada native has been featured on some of the industry’s most storied imprints, with Armada, Global Underground and Lost Language being the most notable. More recently Micah made a contribution to the Perspectives Digital WMC Sampler which enjoyed immense success breaking into the Beatport Progressive House top 10. Micah now keeps that strong momentum going with a great rendition of 'Syllables' here. Opting for a groovier approach the Canadian artist turns the 11 minute progressive journey into a 7 minute funk fuelled dance floor romp. With a marvellous reinvention of the vocal elements and a band of slappy bass hooks this is one mix that not only stimulates your feet, but with an orchestral approach also proves highly emotive. Brilliant remix from Micah who seems to on quite a roll at the moment.  

The second interpretation of 'Syllables' is provided by Namatjira who is making his second appearance on the label. The Dutch producer has enjoyed a great start to the year delivering remixes for Asymmetric Recordings and Sound Avenue, both of which made their way into Beatport’s Progressive House Top 100 and a 4 track EP for dPen's The Last Of Us Music which was a Beatport Top 20 release. His previous outing on Suffused came just last month with a remix of Ewan Rill's 'Be A Water' which was widely regarded as some of his best work to date. For his 'Syllables' interpretation Namatjira has brought his inimitable melodic style to the piece for a deep and wondrously dreamy creation. Warm bass swells and cascading keys make for an emotional first act before a short break brings the vocal elements into the mix. Coming off a touch softer the vocals add a new found emotion to those clustered keys and ultimately carry the track through a cavernous break and Holden-esque finale. Another beautiful piece of music from Namatjira and one which you'll likely be hearing a lot in the coming months. 

The third and final interpretation of 'Syllables' is provided by Ronfoller who is making his first appearance on Suffused Music. Hailing from Azerbaijan, Ronfoller has been one of the underground's best kept secrets. His releases on Soundteller Records and Spring Tube have been fabulous and he brings a fresh approach to production with a deep and techno inspired sensibility. For his 'Syllables' interpretation Ronfoller has keep things tough, stripped down and dubby which proves to be a great complement to the previous three versions. Relying heavily on rhythmic structure and offset synths it's a mix that not only carries a modern appeal but a great dance floor mentality as well. The vocal elements and primary themes are teased briefly following the main break before an array of synth overlays and electric designs take you home. Wonderful remix from Ronfoller which rounds out one of Suffused Music's all time best releases. Don't miss it.

Spring Tube Limited' 91st release is an additional full single for the tracks from label's third sampler. Here we have the first ever for almost seven years of Spring Tube's existence single with remixes from its chief Slang together with his production partner Technodreamer.

The "Deepster" single by Slang & Technodreamer includes the original version which already gained the positive reactions from the likes of Da Funk, Allende, Soulfinder, and Fernando Ferreyra among others, as well as two high-quality remixes.

The first interpretation delivers one-and-only Namatjira who has remixed for us the progressive classic "Strawberry Fields" by the legend Subsky two years back (we already definitely can call this his remix as Spring Tube's classic), and also released with us two originals EPs and two singles, besides having releases on such a respectable imprints as Sudbeat, Hope, Lowbit, Crossfrontier, Perspectives, Temporum, Classound, Sound Avenue, The Last Of Us, and the most recent signings on the mighty AnjunaDeep and Armada. With another beautiful masterpiece remix work for this our single Namatjira once again proves his status as one of the melodic progressive house best producers around.

Whereas the second interpretation is by one of our brightest young talents - Ronfoller. Besides the releases on Stellar Fountain, Soundteller, Suffused, Crumled, and BQ, this promising producer was seen on our labels with the five memorable original tracks in a different compilations as well as one great remix work on Anthony Mea's "Talk To Me". At the moment we prepare Ronfoller's first single release with us which will see the light later this year but for now we highly recommend you his new remix work for this "Deepster" single.

Berlin-based Electro/Pop duo Yeah But No announce the release of the latest addition to "Demons Remixes", a series of carefully chosen remixes accompanying their sophomore album "Demons".

Yeah But No is comprised of Douglas Greed and Fabian Kuss. Merging electronic music with classic song structures into a smart and captivating listening enjoyment is the band's objective ever since they started collaborating. 

Being on the road constantly, Yeah But No have shaped and redefined their musical vision of the band. Dealing with inner and outer conflicts and contrarieties, "Demons" is a slightly darker and more mature piece of music than the bands previous releases.

Dinky makes her evolution from inaugural DJ to singer songwriter and front stage performer with new album ‘Dimension D’ out in June on Visionquest. Single ‘Falling Angel’ is first to drop with remixes from two elite producers, Matthew Styles, who coproduced the album, and Pépé Bradock. Both heighten Dinky’s layered ethereal vocals and mesmerising melodies with their own movement and elements of dark and light.

Her sister named Alejandra Del Pilar Iglesias Rivera Dinky at birth. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, as a child she studied Ballet and the Suzuki method of piano before relocating to New York to become a contemporary dancer. Her drive to make music brought her to Berlin a decade ago where she quickly became a dominant force in dance music, making her mark through releases on Carpark, Cocoon, Ostgut, and the critically acclaimed ‘Anemik’ album in 2009 on Mathew Jonson´s Wagon Repair. Her fifth studio album, ‘Dimension D’ sees her evolve into singer-songwriter and performer and take on a new musical direction. Long term friends with the Visionquest collective from their hedonistic days residing in Berlin, Dinky’s fresh approach fits within their ethereal and otherworldly style and follows the Footprintz album earlier this year.

Consistently on point DJ and musician Matthew Styles coproduced and mixed ‘Dimension D’ and will perform the album live in a series of dates this summer.

French DJ/Producer and prolific remixer Pépé Bradock has been an enigmatic figure on the scene since the early 90s always essential listening for anyone into deep house with a magic off kilter touch.
