Celebrating their 100th release, John Johnson's ICONYC imprint calls upon one of electronic music's brightest talents to reflect on the label's story thus far. Hailing from Cordoba, Ezequiel Arias has grown into one of Argentina's most prodigious progressive house producers. Upon making his debut in 2013, Ezequiel became a favourite of both Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. A 2017 appearance on Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records proved to be a pivotal point in the Argentine's career, eventually leading to his first remix for ICONYC later that summer. Now regarded as one of 2017's best tracks, Ezequiel's interpretation of 'Tell Me' by Galestian & Mira J enjoyed an unprecedented six month long stay in Beatport's Progressive House tracks chart, while earning consistent play from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Khen and many other A-list DJs. After rounding out 2017 with a release on Cid Inc's Replug Records, Ezequiel took another leap forward with his debut EP for Sudbeat Music in 2018, further solidifying his place amongst the progressive house elite. Now embarking on the biggest project of his young career, ICONYC hands over its label catalog for Ezequiel to craft two 90 minute mixes, highlighting a medley of the imprints finest moments. For a label that has amassed such an impressive discography the Argentinean DJ was spoilt for choice. Over a two year period ICONYC has curated a catalog that is fresh and comprehensive in equal measure, a sonic platform where new talent is nourished to grow and scene veterans shine. Beginning the journey in methodical fashion with two electronica cuts from the hugely up and coming Dutch duo Huminal, Ezequiel then goes on to program a sound story to get truly lost in. Highlighted by cuts from Alex O'Rion, Cid Inc., BP, Framework, Kamilo Sanclemente, Danny Lloyd, Praveen Achary, Li-Polymer, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Dmitry Molosh, Andre Sobota, Filter Bear and Ezequiel himself, it amounts to three hours of the finest, most cutting edge melodic house the underground has to offer. Two stunning mixes from one of the scenes brightest and most hyped young talents. For as memorable as the first one hundred releases have been for ICONYC, the future holds even more promise, as the label further diversifies its sonic palette, launching a new chapter in their history with the birth of the 'Noir' division. Make sure you're along for the ride.

We welcome the magnificent Gai Barone back to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Flash, which is backed up by a solid remix from Cherry. Gai continues to churn out top quality cuts on various labels and, he is a firm favourite here at BP as his brand of deep, flowing progressive house and trance sits comfortably on the legendary label. His last outing for us - Myonic – was very well received indeed, not to mention his eclectic 2 part In The Mix 006 which also gained a physical release. As well as travelling the world, alluring his fans, his radioshow Patterns is listened to religiously by a worldwide fan base and he is held in very high regard by his peers, with many citing him as an inspiration to produce their own music. Always a pleasure to have this guy around.

The Original Mix opens up into a cosmic world filled with a rolling synth line and pulsing basses. A nice chunky kick drum leads the drums while subtle percussions start to build into a steady flowing rhythm. Hypnotic arpeggios cascade through the groove, lacing the track with sweet melodies. The multi-layered basses add warmth and depth as infectious scathing synths with a retro twist join in. Such a gem of track that flows effortlessly and a solid slice of progressive goodness that will definitely keep the party rocking.

Cherry aka Ukraine based DJ and producer Oleh Cherkes returns on remix duties and once again he delivers the goods in style. No stranger to the scene, Oleh has several releases on various labels and his music enjoys a lot of support from across the board. His first two efforts for us titled Mnong and Alma gained great support as dis his remix on Iga Dep’s Phobia. He is also known for his dynamic, building sets that always pleases the crowd. Great to have him on board here at BP and we hope to see much more soon. On the remix here, we get thrust into a full-on progressive mover thanks to a tight drum section and bright flowing arpeggios. A beefy bassline rolls beautifully through the groove, luring you to the floor while superb melodic percussions and airy pads add an extra layer of progressive bliss. An exceptional cut and a definite must have for the more upbeat party.

We are more than happy to share with you our upcoming release as it is another milestone for Soundteller Records - STR234 features the music of true legends.
On the "A Better Place EP" you find an original by Lemon8 and its interpretations by D-Nox & ZAC and Andrea Cassino.
There is also an additional treat as Lemon8 has prepared for us an extra version of the original titled "Inner Sanctuary Mix."
The names do not need any introduction as the artists can be called The Founding Fathers of progressive house.

The original is just as perfect as you expect it, being a mixture of good old progressive house and a modern style.
The remix by D-Nox & Zac takes the original sound into the direction of a modern deep tech house with a massive vibe. Andrea Cassino's remix fits the EP perfectly, giving it a deep prog soul. Last but not least comes the Inner Sanctuary Mix, closing the release in a breathtaking way.
