With the spring season now in motion Soundteller Records presents the latest installment of their ‘Vibrant Vibeland’ series. The Polish imprint has become synonymous for the various artists compilation series. With the first edition released in 2014, it’s been a remarkable seven year run with thirteen volumes over that stretch, making the ever growing series a much anticipated part of the label’s release schedule. Continually searching the globe for the finest in progressive house, the Vibrant Vibeland series has shown how far-reaching our scene really is, giving Soundteller an avenue to showcase new talent and stretch it’s borders to now include melodic house & techno and organic house. With the thirteenth edition of ‘Vibrant Vibeland’ being released in January of this year, the Polish imprint now presents the fourteenth overall and second of 2021. Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Matias Rojas aka M.Rojas to the label for his debut EP. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist first made his name as a DJ, sharing the booth with some of his country's greats, such as Soundexile, Mariano Mellino, Kevin Di Serna, Simon Vuaranbom, Mike Griego, Facundo Mohr, Marcelo Vasami and Juan Deminicis. 2019 then saw Matias begin to produce, eventually landing releases on Balkan Connection and Clinique Recordings. Now presenting his first release of 2021, M.Rojas debuts on Dopamine White with ‘Ruderalis'. 

Beginning with the title selection Matias explores traditional progressive house sensibilities. Tough yet warm, a well contoured groove sets the piece in motion as striking percussion adds swing to the framework. Dynamic effects and arpeggiated fragments converge for heartfelt moments as the first act unfolds, before haunting chord changes transfer energy into the main break. Tastefully tranquil, the centerpiece heightens emotion, as a wave of noise sparks the arps and groove to drop for a thunderous finale. 

The companion piece ‘Girl Scout Cookies' follows with an equally enticing storyboard. Once again backed by a buoyant foundation, it's a maze of cosmic effects and heartfelt melodies which slowly saturate your senses. Haunting overlays sweep across the framework, adding emotion with each successive loop, while spine tingling modulation highlights a glowing break, before eventually sparking a powerful finale. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from M.Rojas, who makes an excellent Dopamine White debut.

Renowned German artist Jonathan Kaspar will make an eagerly-awaited return to Kompakt next month via his Umfang EP, with the four-track offering acting as his first full-length solo release on the label since March 2021. “My third Kompakt EP feels particularly special as it is the first time I’m releasing on my home label with dancefloors being open again. The result is four different tracks producing four different vibes, each of which transport my pandemic desires into today’s world.” - Jonathan Kaspar.

The title track leads the way, taking the form of a retro-leaning cut that features whirring synth stabs throughout. Kupfer comes next, a track packed full of emotive chords and a delicate underlying bassline, before Am Raster leads us to the dancefloor and beyond courtesy of minimal-laced kick patterns. Gemach, Gemach Herr Rabe ends proceedings on an incandescent note, as symphonic keys combine with intermittent crow samples to form a slice of wholesome, nature-inspired musical bliss.

Hailing from Bonn, Germany, Jonathan Kaspar is an integral part of the scene in Cologne. He is a resident at the city’s renowned Gewölbe club and also one of the current main figures at the legendary Kompakt label. His discography boasts releases on some of contemporary dance music’s most esteemed labels, including Innervisions, Cocoon Recordings and Crosstown Rebels to name a few, whilst performances at Watergate (Berlin), NDSM (Amsterdam) and Extrema Festival (Hasselt) have brought his sound to global audiences. The Umfang EP proves exactly why he has become one of Germany’s most exciting prospects in recent times and with a highlight year ahead, the future certainly shines bright for Jonathan.

The latest release on 3rd Avenue welcomes Sudnode back to the label with three remixes for his previously released track "Levels".

Since partnering up with label boss Madloch in 2018 the majority of Subnode's productions have come courtesy of Sound Avenue or it's affiliates Crossfade Sounds and 3rd Avenue; while his own Caapi Records imprint has served as a landing spot for the finest in electronica and experimental sounds. Most recently, Subnode once again paired with Madloch on Sound Avenue, where the duo released the well received 'Utopia' alongside remixes from Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile and Microlot.

One of the most talked about remixes of 2019 gets an official release as Camille Luciani’s stunning rework of The Temper Trap’s 2008 global hit ’Sweet Disposition’ comes out on Renaissance Records / BMG on 13 December. 

Camille Luciani, one of France’s brightest new dance talents, creates a stirring and highly atmospheric update of the Australian indie rock outfit’s seminal 2008 anthem, which has achieved cult status in recent years, featuring in the film ‘(500) Days of Summer’ and clocking over 260 million streams on Spotify alone. 

“I’d been a fan of the band for more than 10 years”, explains Camille, “Their music was always there for me; one day I just decided to give them something in return and chose Sweet Disposition, which is a timeless track that I always wanted to bring my vision to. So, initially it was more for fun than an official release. It was only after sending it to Dougy and Lorenzo - the band themselves - that things began to develop. I’m delighted it’s now getting an official release.” 

The remix takes the listener on an emotional journey, emphasising the brooding percussion alongside clever layering of the blissful vocal. The poignant piano refrain and swirling, intense beats result in a beautiful, yet powerful reinvention, perfect for peak-time dance-floors, which has already received many ID requests on social media. Major support has come from globally-renowned duo Tale Of Us who have played it as their closing track on many of the world’s biggest stages, including Printworks London, Gashouder Amsterdam and Ushuaïa Ibiza, each time receiving a euphoric, ‘hands in the air’ crowd reaction.
