Sovereign Studios has been offering professional recording, mixing, mastering & post production services to bands, filmakers, corporations & individuals for nearly 10 years.

Founded in 2001 by engineer/producer Aidan Barton, Sovereign has become somewhat a mecca for bands who lean towards the heavier side of the musical spectrum. Working on over 170 releases to date, many of which for national and international artists signed to major labels.

Nucleust incorporates four passion driven musicians who strive to deliver what can be classified as heavy odd music comprising of unpredictable combinations of metal riffs and motives. Having been inspired by a diverse range of genres from Classical Music to Doom/Goth Metal, from Thrash to Death Metal, and from Jazz to Progressive Rock/Metal, Nucleust creates music, which is a reflection of what is happening in the real world through their own screaming critique, backed by a distinctive sound of extreme 7 & 6 string guitar riffs, massive crunchy bass sounds and groovy heavy drum patterns.

Since starting the band in 2013, Nucleust has gained momentum steadily. With the release of the first track “Whisper”, the band had attracted attention from both local and global metal communities. Following the release of their second track “Pandemonium”, Nucleust was introduced to the US market through Heavy Metal radio station, “The Heaviest Matter In The Universe”. 

The band entered into the local scene on December 10th 2013 with their debut live show and has developed a solid fan base since then. As a result of the trending popularity amongst metal fans, they then attracted the attention of Blunt Magazine to feature “Whisper (Blunt Edition)” on the cover CD of the April 2014 issue. 

Nucleust then hit the studio to record their debut E.P at Sovereign studios in July 2014 recording a six track release titled “Fractured Equilibrium” which was released on November 8th 2014 at the Amplifier Capitol venue in Perth. 

The band’s views on Politics, Religion, Media, Education and Human condition in General has led them to create a particularly personal song/video “FAITH BY THE SWORD” which they believe relates to every person in the world.

Ash Tyson is your man. He doesn't view your music as better or worse, but as a personal story for the world. Your music is your story and he wants to help you tell that story in the best possible light. His goal is not only to achieve the best sound you want, but to achieve the best sound he knows you have.

Ash's skills include the recording, editing, mixing and mastering of audio. With the ability to run these operations on both analog and digital mixing desks. He also has sound knowledge of a variety of microphones, hardware and FX units as well as industry standard software, recording and mixing techniques. On top of this, he is also a vocalist, drummer and keyboardist. Resulting in a deeper and more intrinsic comprehension of rhythm, melody and pitch to add to his skills as an engineer. Most importantly, he knows how sound works and how to work with it

These skills and knowledge have been honed and developed with Perth's very own SAE Institute where he is currently completing an internationally accredited Audio Production degree. However, it is his keen eye for detail and his passion for all things musical that sets him apart from other engineers. His love for music is infinite, it knows no bounds. His taste, and therefore his knowledge of music is broad and diverse, not restricted by things like genre, style or decade.

So to you, overall this means Severe Sound Productions and Ash Tyson will always bring an open perspective, a keen creative sense, the ability to interpret your vision and a severe dedication to producing your best sound.
