Ten years ago, ‘We Are Your Friends’ reached our ears and pushed Justice to the front of the scene, a young French duo signed by Pedro Winter on the label he had just created: Ed Banger Records. The record that followed,✝, was an album of condensed jerky electro, of disco reminiscences and heavy metal energy, with unstoppable tunes like ‘D.A.N.C.E’, ‘Stress’ and ‘Phantom’, and its videos, allowed Justice to follow the 90’s French Touch and its filtered disco loop. 

Since the release of their debut album in 2007, Justice has been tirelessly touring the world by bus, road festival to festival and concerts all over throughout the planet. Since their first tour, the band developed a powerful stage design that they polished and magnified throughout the years and the gigs. The wall of vintage Marshall amps front of the stage, an imposing cross, impressive light shows, and the sound of Justice totally revisited for the live shows. 


MUSIC AS A FORM OF RETALIATION AGAINST INDUSTRIAL STAGNANCE

Strange as it may seem, music is created for other reasons than making a living. For many of us it is a way of staying interested in a life that is fraught with disappointment and otherwise encumbered with obstructions to contentment. Some have asked me why I don't create music that is more accessible, with potential for popular appeal. I'll consider that whenever it seems there is a shortage of such. For now, I focus on other sorts of potentials. Not much point in spending valuable time attempting popularity through imitation, and trying to do that better than others.

Daft Punk is an electronic music duo consisting of French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975).[1][2][3] Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s house movement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synthpop.[1][2][4] The duo is also credited with producing songs that were considered essential in the French house scene. They were managed from 1996 to 2008 by Pedro Winter (Busy P), the head of Ed Banger Records.[5]
Early in the group's career, the band members were strongly influenced by groups such as The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. Bangalter and de Homem-Christo were originally in an indie rock trio called Darlin', which disbanded after a short period of time, leaving the two to experiment musically on their own. The duo became Daft Punk, and released their critically acclaimed debut album Homework in 1997. The 2001 release Discovery was even more successful, driven by the club singles "One More Time", "Digital Love" and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". In March 2005, the duo released the album Human After All to mixed reviews. However, the singles "Robot Rock" and "Technologic" achieved success in the United Kingdom. Daft Punk toured throughout 2006 and 2007 and released the live album Alive 2007, which won a Grammy award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The duo composed the score of the film Tron: Legacy and in 2010 released the soundtrack album of the film.
Daft Punk is noted for its elaborate live shows, in which visual elements and effects are incorporated with the music. The group is also known for its emphasis on visual and story components associated with their musical productions, as well as for wearing ornate robot costumes in public and while performing.

En 1992 inicia su carrera profesional, identificándose con el género electrónico House Music y el Soulful House,  fusionándose con otros ritmos musicales como el Bossa Nova, Jazz, Funk, Soul y Ritmos Latinos, creando un estilo especial en sus sesiones.

Es todo un melómano, y en su faceta de DJ y productor busca conjugar sus talentos tanto DJ como de artista en busca de desarrollarse y aportar a la escena electrónica nacional e internacional.

A principio del 2006, profundiza sus conocimientos perfeccionando su estilo y se desarrolla profesionalmente en Europa, especialmente en España en las ciudades de Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza, Pontevedra, Sanxenxo – Portonovo, donde tuvo el placer y la oportunidad de pinchar y trabajar en locales importantes de la escena electrónica española, como lo son Zoo Club Spain, Canelas The Real Night, Joy Eslava Madrid, San Antonio Ibiza SpotLight - Prive Party entre otros.

En Venezuela se presentó en locales que fueron iconos y de renombre en la ciudad de Caracas, como lo fueron La Belle Epoque, Barra Bar, Suka Bar, The Place, entre otros, y actualmente lleva la residencia junto a otros Djs en locales top como lo son Anónimo Restaurante, El Bar Caracas, El Menú Caracas, El Lounge Caracas, Modo Caracas, El Banco Rest., Alto Restaurant, Bosque Bistro, Coco Tea & Wine, Piso 5 Paseo del Hatillo y otros.

Charles Leiv viene colaborando en proyectos y desarrollando propuestas con el objetivo de seguir impulsando el arte de ser DJ y apoyar al talento emergente, también, como verdadero amante y usuario del vinyl busca rescatar y exaltar el uso de los mismos y transmitir su conocimiento y divulgación a las nuevas generaciones.

Carlos A. Leiva, known as Charles Leiv @CharlesLeivDj .
