The Viennese producers Space Echo have been responsible for one of the biggest and brightest disco house tunes of the past years, 'Soul Power', released 2013 on Luv Shack. Time Out Magazine London have made the West Side Story after party I'm DJing at a  Critics Choice this Notting Hill Carnival weekend so to celebrate I'm making Pocket Angel available as a free download on WAV for the first time. Only seems apt seeing as I made Pocket Angel with West Side Story promoter Guy Williams.

Time Out Burb - The West Side Story crew return for more Carnival mayhem at their beloved Masons Arms haunt. Once again it'sa two-day affair, and this year there's a 'Wild West' theme, so grab a cowboy hot – or something more imaginative, but please spare us the Native American headdresses – and get dancing tohouse, disco, bass, breaks and techno.

Sunday's line-up features D Ramirez, Hannah Holland, Guy Williams, Dub Pistols' Barry Ashworth and Tery Farley, while Monday's party is led by Leftside Wobble, Terry Farley and Barry Ashworth making their second appearance, plus Guy Williams and more tba. After a long hiatus Shir Khan hits us with the 14th edition featuring Onsra & Bas Roos. Secret Parisian project Onsra returns after killing it with "Funky Town" last year. First he gets down on the terrace with the loopy banger of "So Good". A 112BPM disco house number which has a touch of that old Soundstream magic about it yet is instantly, undeniably a Shir Khan favourite. When those string-led bridge sections burst into life you should see the whole terrace unite under some Vitamin D-laced pleasure. "Other Day" packs a bit more umph with tough boogie licks looped and chopped for more funky dancefloor goodness. Bas Roos takes over the flip and is a newbie youngster from Rotterdam with a fresh residency at Toffler Club keeping things bright, smooth and wide-eyed with "Searchin" and "Don’t Let Go The Disco". Both tracks epitomizing the feel-good spirit of classic funky house whilst still keeping the modern day nu-disco crowd happy. Shir Khan rides forth! Vinyl only, limited run. Move quick!

In Space, it has been said, no-one can hear you scream, yet if you listen carefully you will hear a distinct Space Echo.
The two gentlemen behind this Space Echo ( est: 2013 ) are the Austrian artists caTekk & Lee Stevens and within their echo are elements of classic 70ties, 80ties Disco & New Wave with just a touch of John Carpenter and, of course, this Space Echo is re-produced by their trusty robot friend Roland.
Epic in their production layout, their music contains all the ingredients one needs for the work out on the dancefloor, at the same time a layered structure of the art of DJing can and should be noticed. The element of surprise, an important factor in all good DJ sets, is obvious in their productions. Their production and live set up is a combination of both old school analogue and new day digital with caTekk standing for pefectionism behind the machines whilst Lee Stevens adds Space Echo`s distinct, polished roughness.
The music from Space Echo has indeed left an echo in the online world: No.1 in the Juno charts with their tune "Soul Power" for over 3 months, this piece of music is one of Juno`s top 5 ever selling House tunes. On the Austrian Radio station FM4, their remix for Austra´s "Home" also reached #1 in FM4s weekly music charts.
Space Echo have already performed in L.A , Berlin ( Wilde Renate ) and at the Frequency Festival in St.Polten, Austria . Musically, an Austrian duo with one ear in the past and one ear pointing towards the future, something unique to look out for in the coming months.
