Julian & Der Fux haben mit ihrem Debütalbum „Vanille“ ordentlich für Aufsehen gesorgt. Radiostationen, sowie Print- und Online-Medien waren begeistert. Die Hörer ebenso. Das letzte Jahr wurde standesgemäß mit Chartplatzierungen, ausführlichen Interviews und Features beendet. Das neue Jahr wird mit einer grandiosen Single eingeläutet.
Der Titeltrack „Vanille“ wird nun ausgekoppelt – ein funkelnder Hit, der die tanzbaren Dancefloor-Grooves des österreichischen Acts Julian & der Fux mit ordentlich Popappeal ausstattet. Knackige Beats und satte Basslines werden hier mit schillerndem Funk und kreischendem Pop kurzgeschlossen. Der Ohrwurm knabbert schon beim ersten Hören an den Gehörgängen. Julian & der Fux wissen eben wie man unwiderstehliche musikalische Zuckerl fabriziert. Nicht minder süß, sind die anderen Tracks des sechs Stücke umfassenden Releases. Spannende Remixes & Reworks verschiedenster Albumtracks gibt es hier als Draufgabe.
Das aus Bayern stammende Duo „Oberst & Buchner“ (Antime, Schönbrunner Perlen, etc.) hat aus dem Track „Alte Spuren (feat. Mimu)“ eine wunderbar düstere und dystopische Techno-Version gezimmert. Das ebenfalls aus Deutschland stammende Dreiergespann „T Raum“ hat „99 Cent“ von Julian & der Fux in eine deepe, sich hochschraubende Minimal-Nummer verwandelt. Der aus Paris stammende und in Berlin ansässige David Ducaruge aka Acid Washed verpasst „Vanille“ ein Kleid aus acid-lastigen Synthesizern und schubst den Track mit Schwung Richtung Dancefloor. Im Anschluss transformiert die Wiener-Formation Space Echo (Luv Shack Records), die unlängst auf dem Oliver Koletzki-Label Light My Fire veröffentlichte, die erste Album-Single „Mischduft (feat. Hermes)“ in eine wohlig-warme Disco-Version mit Piano-Schlagseite. Abgerundet wird die Veröffentlichung von „Vanille“ im „Club Edit“. Ein stimmiges Release-Paket, bei dem Radios, Hörer, DJs und Tänzer auf ihre Kosten kommen.

Tales Of The Night is our series of double A-side singles from 2 different producers showing their strongest work to date. Be it then original tracks or remixes, the series only highlights those one-off productions which does not fit into an EP concept, nor do they do justice as a compilation track. But one thing is for sure, these tracks need to be out there and be played out loud and proud. 

Volume 4 showcases our very own Ed Ed in full mode with ‘Epsilon’ with swirling synthwork and ethnic influences, guaranteed to work the floor.

As I tend to leave a lot of half-finished music behind in the process of making an album, ... thought that it'd be nice to share some of the more developed ideas in the form of a mix for the 1 year anniversary of "Joined Ends".

We are starting the year 2016 with several artists. On the A-side of the forTunea Cookies EP we feature the Viennese-Innsbruckian combo JANEFONDAS. Since 5 years they are touring around the country and are wellknown for their mixture of current house tunes and disco classics. In this release they are presenting their newest composition, called „Lovely Secret“. A great tool that definitely finds its way in the recordbags and usbs of a house dj. The B-side starts with KLAUS BENEDEK. „Spanked In The Disco“ sounds at first like your typical 1990s filterhouse. But in the end it builds up to a warm and breathtaking melancholic climax that leaves you with a smile. The third track in the bunch by SCHAMPUS GHOST & KAIROBOY is literally a balls to the walls „Loveletter“ to disco music. This track will come out only on vinyl. And like the previous releases on forTunea, there will be no repress. So first come, first serve!

For Cerrone's new EP "afro" to be released 12th february, LeonxLeon from our crew Les Yeux Orange was asked by his record company, Because Music, to do an official remix of this track, Funk Makossa, taking it's roots in Manu Dibango's classic track from 1972, "Soul Makossa". Our man LeonxLeon managed to keep the afro vibe while giving it a balearic house touch by twisting the bassline, to finally give it away and drop an acid line. Not a typical Mason club banger by any stretch of the imagination 'Boadicea' is the first salvo from the boy's 'They Are Among Us' album. Having built up a steady online buzz via cult blogger Perez Hilton's support this tune has been gathering much internet moss as it rolls through the ether picking up momentum.
 
This classy electronic mid-tempo showcases the versatility of the Amsterdam based producers and the vocal beauty of Roisin Murphy. Its simple slowly arpeggiating theme over a sexed-up groove creates the perfect palette for Roisin's pure tones soaring majestically over the sonic canvas.
 
Dutch duo Iason Chronis and Coen Berrier had always been massive fans of Roisin's since hearing her on early Moloko tracks in their formative years. Having sent over a bunch of their latest ideas it wasn't long before the Irish diva was enlisted as another star performer on 'They Are Among Us'.
 
A heavily pregnant Miss Murphy entered a borrowed London studio and over the course of a day came up with the magical performance on 'Boadicea' somehow inspired by the ancient revolutionary warrior queen! What started life as a slow, deep Italo influenced groove turned into something much more special.
 
"Working with Roisin was really inspiring" Iason reflects of the recording session. "She breezed into the room and just became this creative machine of ideas as soon as the mic was switched on and stuck in front of her".
 
'Boadicea' has been taken into the club area by some quality and diverse remixers. Brighton's Evil Nine, give it a stab happy old school house rinse. Even the most stubborn of hands will be air-bound when this one is dropped. Remix maestro of the moment, Oliver $ goes for a bass heavy, jumped-up, driving dancefloor extravangazna! Tony Senghore brings his signature pitching vocal madness to his treatment. Madder than a bag of kittens the Swede warrants a check up from the neck up with his typically loco remix. Danny Howells and Mat Playford opt for a deep and funky disco vibe in contrast. A smooth and relentless head nodder of groovy goodness! The package is rounded off in big room euphoric style with LA's mighty Human Life providing the icing on this very tasty cake. 
 
The now traditional 'Refurb' comes from Animal Language competition winner Tim Brownlow. His complete musical and vocal re-interpretation of the original won through the numerous entries and joins the list of random re-workings from Mason's back catalogue.

Spring Zero Thirteen finally arrived here in Vienna, and with it a busy Luv Shack schedule to shout about. This time the boys deliver a delicious double header coming in two parts. Yes, LUV10 comes in two vinyl slices spread out over a few weeks. Digital, you get to taste all eight tracks in one sitting. And you will need all eight tracks too as the label gets really serious with some heavyweight dance music, including a first for them in inviting major guest appearance’s from the likes of Rocco Raimundo, Mike Burns, DJ Rocca, Ben Sun & Tyson Ballard as Voyeurhythm, Rotciv and Radio Diffusion. The label is spreading its wings and, it’s the right time to invite others to come roost in the Shack and spread the Luv.

First slice in LUV010-1 kicks off with Burnin Tears & Jakobin getting old school with “Heartcore”.Lots of quality bottom end as it was back in the day. Proper House music has always been driving by the simple low-end frequencies that keep the track raw and pure and the right side of industrial. Burnin Tears & Jakobin stir in their accustomed vocal “luv drops”.

mikeBurns bangs it out big time for LeSale’s “On the Beach”. Blimey, you really could be on a beach with this one too. It wasn’t easy getting those Seagulls in the studio apparently and getting them to comply with Mike’s wishes, but the guy did memorable work in getting the job done. More than just another Balearic outing, it builds and builds and really does turn into a majestic summer solstice.

Flip it over and Rocco Raimundo once again gets into that bottom end thing. One heavyweight producer and one seriously heavyweight groove. “Made For Each Other” is Rocco bitten by the Luv Bug. Ethereal and dreamy but with an extremely influential groove that just commands your attention and some fancy foot action.

Last but not least on the flip of 10-1 is the Voyerhythm remix of “Be Yourself” by Lee Stevens & Domino. Some sampling that will have you racking your brain for what it is. I always luv it when a producer teases me to death with a chopped up sample from my youth that lingers on the end of my tongue. Synths and drums and lots of wobbly knob twisting as if Ben & Tyson get frisky with their funky fingers! Damn, I still can’ remember this frigging sample!

In Space, it has been said, no-one can hear you scream, yet if you listen carefully you will hear a distinct Space Echo.
The two gentlemen behind this Space Echo ( est: 2013 ) are the Austrian artists caTekk & Lee Stevens and within their echo are elements of classic 70ties, 80ties Disco & New Wave with just a touch of John Carpenter and, of course, this Space Echo is re-produced by their trusty robot friend Roland.
Epic in their production layout, their music contains all the ingredients one needs for the work out on the dancefloor, at the same time a layered structure of the art of DJing can and should be noticed. The element of surprise, an important factor in all good DJ sets, is obvious in their productions. Their production and live set up is a combination of both old school analogue and new day digital with caTekk standing for pefectionism behind the machines whilst Lee Stevens adds Space Echo`s distinct, polished roughness.
The music from Space Echo has indeed left an echo in the online world: No.1 in the Juno charts with their tune "Soul Power" for over 3 months, this piece of music is one of Juno`s top 5 ever selling House tunes. On the Austrian Radio station FM4, their remix for Austra´s "Home" also reached #1 in FM4s weekly music charts.
Space Echo have already performed in L.A , Berlin ( Wilde Renate ) and at the Frequency Festival in St.Polten, Austria . Musically, an Austrian duo with one ear in the past and one ear pointing towards the future, something unique to look out for in the coming months.
