NATARAJA SERIES - 01 -

In the early hours of Sunday 1st November 2020,  just after halloween, my oldest sister was tragically taken away from this plane. I have also experienced further loss and grief in the following and final weeks of that year, leading to feelings of rage, regret and resentment. 

Performed in a violent mood, the dance is called Raudra or Rudra Tandava.

 When Sati (first wife of Shiva, who was reborn as Parvati) jumped into the Agni Kunda (sacrificial fire) and gave up her life, Shiva is said to have performed the Rudra Tandava to express his grief and anger.

Space Shinobi (aka “Nataraja” meaning Lord of the Dance) describes his sound as “intergalactic techno’ with strong psychedelic, cosmic and tribal elements. At the core of his sound is intricately rhythmic, up tempo sonic jabs aimed at inducing dancefloor-focused euphoria along with altered states, via repetitive dance and rhythm, ultimately leading to a greater sense of connectedness to one’s self and others.
