Amphibelle is the title track off @Futexture's 4th official release, and first in 4 years, forthcoming September 13th via @aquaticcollective.

A further refinement of David Krantz's aesthetic explorations, the sound design heavy 6-track EP explores tense unfolding glitch landscapes through a melodic, jazz-like approach to bass music.

Inspired by a strangely lucid mental mirage of sound while standing in a stream in the Appalachian mountains, writing the album was an attempt to reverse engineer and transcribe that weird little transcendent moment in nature.

Profits from the Amphibelle EP will be donated to Amazon Frontlines to help provide clean water and rain catchment systems to families in rural parts of Ecuador and help the Secoya tribe buy back ancestral land they were forcibly removed from with the intent of conservation and on-going protection of the rainforest.

Hurling through stereo space and time, the 5AM project has fused a myriad of collaborative forces into a space-aged ensemble. He has brought to full fruition a vision of electronic music that pulls from the expansive arrangement styles of jazz and jam, and was borne from the stage as much as the studio. The addition of fellow Philadelphians ZONE Drum's dynamic percussion and Tygris' combination of electronic production, bass guitar, and turntablism has brought 5AM's music into fresh, improvisational territory. Over a year of trio appearances across the country and countless hours spent practicing and workshopping the tunes have forged this combined musical might into a fierce, producer-driven, multi-instrumental act, and this synergy has produced a lush, organic set of tunes; the Triovision EP.

The hi-fi production and fluid composition across Triovision are in line with 5AM’s conventional output, but the addition of Tygris and ZONE Drums on the record itself amounts to far more than just a touch of extra spice. Brazen cuts, organic fills, and instrumental synchronicity breathe a whole new life into 5AM’s patented blend of soul, jazz, and sheer bass weight. The added complement of Maya Elise’s vocal work and call-and-response guitar licks from Keith Wadsworth of Wax Future spread a lasting blanket of emotion across the record, accenting the concise production with succinct musicianship. Each track complements the greater whole of Triovision, gradually building on tempo, tension, and arrangement. It’s the typified journey through sound, brought to life through rounded edges, sultry chord progressions, and precision engineering. As an instrumentalist, 5AM’s chops have never been shone so brilliantly, and as a composer, Triovision is a well-rounded re-interpretation of his signature sonic adventures.

A sonic alchemist, Murge weaves the eclectic and the electric to create dancefloor-centric beats that fill the space and lift the crowd. Inspired by travels through eastern Spain, Here We All Are is a cohesive collection of downtempo tracks, filled with fresh, earthy bass and neoteric instrumentals. Unorthodox sounds intertwine to create an expansive aural journey; one of connection and elevation. Pulling from across a variety of genres, Murge’s influences are wide ranging and free flowing; from the Cosmic era of disco to psychedelic jazz, from Latin rhythms fused with the elasticity and inclusiveness of world-inspired music to field recordings of ambient samples, captured during his own global travels.

'Here We All Are' was primarily produced at Murge’s studio The Cabin, with additional recording and mixing taking place at Burning Rainbow Studios in Victoria BC and The Warehouse in Vancouver BC, followed by mastering by Grammy nominated Shawn Hatfield at Audible Oddities. Influenced by the live instrumentals of Bonobo and Khruangbin, Murge has collaborated with some of BC’s most talented vocalists and multi-instrumentalists to create a full, world-inspired sound. First track ‘Reach Out’ is an uplifting dance floor groove reminiscent of sundowners at Cafe Del Mar; all languorous laid back beats peppered with inspiriting live flute. Lead single ‘Can’t Hurt Me Now’, featuring vocals by Sierra Lundy, is rich with moody dance floor energy and warm textures.

No stranger to packed dance floors or epic stages, Murge has entranced crowds at some of North America’s most well respected electronic festivals (Shambala, Bass Coast). A world class DJ and skilled producer, he has also shared stages with Bonobo, DJ Shadow, Flying Lotus, Hot Chip, Pete Rock, Kid Koala, De La Soul, Wu Tang Clan and Charles Bradley. With collaboration and creativity in mind, Murge has worked with Talib Kweli and Blackalicious, and has featured on remixes for Tegan & Sara, alongside Four Tet, Toro Y Moi and Holy F**k.

A longtime captain of the dance floor, Murge presents Here We All Are as a fresh offering of inspired global consciousness and transformative connectivity. 2020 is shaping up to be an expansive new chapter in Murge’s story.

Combining infectious rhythms and swollen, emotive textures, Arkansas-based producer Jonteal puts an interesting approach to modern low-end design in his third EP, Mezmerize. His poignant synthesis and compositional command blend into a purée of pure mood music.

The combination of tracks on Mezmerize give it a wide berth for a double sided release; the arrangements are extremely fluid, with tendrils of influence from glitch and psychedelic music reflected with soothing twists. The mid-range patches and tones are smoothed around the edges, trading a soft bite for a large impact.

Jonteal’s diverse use of stereo space allows every melody and rhythm to shine in synchronicity. Bright, precision percussion and thumping downbeats are the workhorse of both tracks, matching up with the movements of each bass line with whipcord ferocity. The mingling of that ferocity and an abundance of atmospheric movement define Jonteal as a forward thinking musician, and highlight a deep affinity for structure and tonal relationships. The powerful undercurrent of those relationships is what gives Mezmerize it’s lasting impact.

Mountain of Memory’s 14 free-flowing tracks effortlessly encapsulate his entire musical history without sounding forced or overly complicated: Mid-tempo dance grooves, solid boom bap hip-hop beats and calm, reflective tempos blend with electric and acoustic guitars, classical violin, Persian dilruba, cimbaloms, finger snaps, symphonic strings, bubbling water, Latin and African hand
drumming, music boxes, Baroque flutes and opera singers, who add unexpected vocal ornamentations to accent certain melodic phrases. Underlying it all, is the bed of sound Appling produces using electric pianos, ethereal synthesizer washes, processed and almost inaudible vocals, soothing ambient textures and the pulsing of an infinite heartbeat produced by electronic bass tones.
