Having recently relocated to the remote redwood forests of Northern California in order to set up a satellite mixing studio for his old stomping ground, Glasgow’s Green Door Studio, Sordid Sound System returns to Invisible Inc with 4 cuts of Psychedelic Dungeon Disco.

The EP opens with his most blissed out track to date ‘Die Ewige Nacht’, an eight and a half minute inverted sun ritual based around shimmering cascades of dubbed up electronic percussion and an overdriven tintinnabulated FM arp.

Hi-NRG meets 80s B-Boy electro on ‘Crescent City’ with a careering off-road excursion into tripped out mutant carnival cavalcade territory.

Dia De Muertos’s offbeat eerie percussion and driving low frequencies are met with spectral buzzing melodic refrains from the furthermost reaches of a decaying Oaxacan cemetery.

The acid drenched ambient lullaby ‘You & Me’ brings proceedings to a fittingly fucked up close.

Following up on his collaborative Ep "Middle Of The Road  Less Travelled" with Michal Turtle, HOVE is back with another solo EP on his imprint Light of Other Days. The ﬁve breezy and balearic-tinged tracks were recorded and produced in HOVE’s home studio in Zurich between December 2018 and June 2019.  On "In Motion" HOVE’s sound evolves from drifting and dreamy ambiences into tape-saturated mid-tempo bumpers  right back into shimmering chords, spiked with echoing guitars  and ﬁeld-recordings. As with its predecessors, he interweaves organic sounds with seductive rhythms and percolated ambient pads into a dense yet familiar HOVE sound. "In Motion"  is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to House, Synth-Pop,  Wave, Dub and New Age records. It is HOVE’s third solo EP  and his ﬁrst release of 2019.

Latin American outlet Calypso Records continues its city-focussed compilation series with a new instalment that places the focus on Ecuador capital Quito, with contributions from Nicola Cruz, FE, Quisxosis and NTFL.
Thomass Jackson and Iñigo Vontier’s Calypso Records imprint has been going from strength to strength with every release and following a compilation dedicated to Tel Aviv, they now look to give a platform to Quito based artists. Local talent Nicola Cruz helped assemble the tracks and says, "from the highlands of the equator, an eclectic sound develops in multiple forms: tension, drums and sounds from old records are retranslated to tape to revive emotions. All the tracks in this compilation have been assembled through different experimental methods, as this is something that characterises our creative process around here."
Cruz begins with with 'Tu Recuerdo', a brilliantly unhinged house track riddled with malfunctioning bleeps and beeps. Churning bass and rickety percussion all add to this wonky and most characterful groove. Next up is FE with 'Trade o Temprano', an experimental track that fizzes with static electricity as ambient pads bring eerie feelings to this most brilliantly unusual affair.
Quixosis comes through with 'Vibras', another inventive track with a loose but percussive rhythm, unevendrumloopsandplentyoffreewheelingsynthsbringingtheirownuniquesenseoflife. Lastof all, NTFL offers 'Vacio,' a punchy deep house track built on an afro groove inspired by UK funky. Lush keys bring soul and colour to this brilliantly carnivalesque and tribal track.

Ojon and Aryo found a mutual musical likeness where the two are able to fill in ach other’s gaps perfectly despite their different musical styles. From then on they’ve decided to start a group and on 1 September 2005 saw the birth of Space System.

Combining each and their own musical background—Ojon used to be in a band playing from rock, metal, punk to electronic. While Aryo is a jazz player—the duo built the soundscape of Space System evolving around electronic jazz with heavy emphasis on the use of synths.
