It's easy to assume that Out Of Sorts came Out Of Knowhere when their first remix made its way into the hands of Kompakt Records gaining attention of some of the biggest players in the game. But there's something about their productions that tells you they didn't – something bold lurks within those modern grooves and nostalgic moods telling us that we're not dealing with lucky amateurs.

Because we're not. In fact, Out Of Sorts is the mysterious new identity fronting a duo who have seen huge international success under a different moniker. And with this new name comes a new sound that's difficult to pigeonhole, leaving the past almost irrelevant – except that this is a duo who know how to bring it.

Which they are. From the grimiest clubs to the most revered festivals on the global circuit, somewhere in the abyss of electronica you'll hear the Out Of Sorts sound.

Born from a desire to play together, COMMUNICATE is the brainchild of Tāmaki Makaurau based DJs Cyril Orson and Heylady.

These two stalwarts of the New Zealand scene have been ferreting away rhythm for well over 50 years between them, and they’ve been playing for just as long. Since banding together in 2022 they have played across Aotearoa at some of New Zealand’s biggest festivals and club nights. They have quickly garnered a reputation as one of the acts to follow, with their combined passion and experience they bring an energy to the floor that is hypnotising, all-encompassing and unmistakable.

Together they run one of Auckland’s longest running club nights, Sonik Tonik, in 2024 they revived Ooh La La and they launched their XCOMMUNICATE night, which sees the duo curate a 6 hour journey that spans decades. After a huge summer playing 18 shows across the country, including some of the biggest events in NZ, the pair have spent most of this year in the studio finessing their own brand of audio alchemy. With fresh tracks and remixes ready, and the release of their own label in the coming months, they are firmly stamping their mark on NZ’s underground scene.

COMMUNICATE is a no-holds-barred exploration of four to the floor, expect underlying elements of broken beat, garage, electronica, punk and rock, and expect it all put together by two humans who can’t live without the harmony they breathe. With each set a tailored, unique experience, COMMUNICATE offers you the chance to take a trip through the vaults of two minds who collect music which has stood the test of time, as well as showcasing the freshest cuts from across the world.

Fine Beats is a circle of friends that revolves around music, friendship and togetherness. Some of us create, some of us play, some of us listen and some of us simply love fine beats. In essence, a sophisticated musical connection.

MoodMachine is Joel Kino and Ray Zed from Melbourne, Australia. Both Joel and Ray have been active in Melbourne’s electronic music scene for many years, both as DJs and producers. In 2009 they combined forces to form MoodMachine, a project aimed at fusing elements from genres such as; Deep House, Tech House, Techno, Nu Disco and anything that is funky and groovy. 

Recently back from playing LIVE at the awesome Bachstelzen stage and Germany’s famed Fusion Festival and a few club gigs in the home of Techno and House, Berlin, the boys are ready to drop some of their new material on the Australian crowds over the summer.

Both Joel and Ray have also DJ'ed across the globe in countries including; Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Israel, India, Thailand and Malaysia. MoodMachine had their debut release on Smash Bang Records in April 2011 and have released on a number of labels including Gem Records, Vapour and Bamboo. The MoodMachine sound is dynamic and constantly evolving, yet is able to stay underground and deep. 

They have played alongside artists including; D-Nox & Beckers, Gabe, Marcello V.O.R, Koze, Boris Brejcha, Heinrichs and Hirtenfellner, Antix/Fiord, SQL, Secret Cinema, Nico Stojan, Acid Pauli & NU, Peter Horrevorts, Egbert, Kasey Taylor, King Unique, Juan Atkins, Gabriel Ananda, DJ Pena, and at festivals such as Eclipse 2012, Rainbow Serpent, Strawberry Fields and Maitreya.


Human Element is the project of Martin Knecht. His journey into electronic music began in his early teenage years and after some years of dedicated practicing, he started to perform in clubs and parties around Switzerland. A longtime residency at zürichs legendary Labyrinth Club helped him to shape his instinct and intuition and made his agenda busy playing all over the country. 
He moved a step further to write and produce his own music and after a few releases as a solo artist, he formed the progressive project Earsugar in 2003 and later the label mikrokosmos records together with Nicola Capobianco, aka Liquid Soul. The busy tour schedule continued but this time on a global scale with performances at major festivals and parties all over the world. 
In 2009 martin decided to focus more on his solo work and since then he kept on shaping and exploring new frontiers in his creation as Human Element. In 2013 he joined the Iboga Records family where most of his productions get released including his album EVOLVING that came out in late 2017. 
His sound is a blend of progressive house, progressive trance and techno, best to describe as deep driving and hypnotic soundscapes
