Slam continue their prolific activity in 2017 with their new 4 tracker, The Sanctuary EP. 

A year of relentless touring hasn’t stopped the Soma label heads from firing on all cylinders with each release, and this latest EP sees the duo turn up the heat once more.

The EP starts off with Conduction, a heady mix of crafted Techno and strong, tripped out melodic rhythms. The rigorous Rotation is up next and goes full tilt, drawing on the main sequenced tones to drive home a powerful and reactionary affair. Slam are always ones for creating great synergy within their releases and do so proficiently as the EP goes deeper with Convection. Subtle, modulating synths lead the charge and perfectly crafted percussive elements remain steadfast throughout. The duo close the EP with the title track Sanctuary. A vibrant, affair packed with pulsating tonality, as classic synthesis methods are used to immense effect.

Spektre (Drumcode / Respekt), one of Britain's hottest techno duos, attacks the techno World with an unprecedented single! 'Without Warning' is Spektre's case study on today's Techno. Uncommon, speedy, dark and above all, trippy, it is a track that rewrites the rules on how a proper track should be. Melancholic and dark, but precise and crisp at the same time -a typical Spektre characterstic- 'Without Warning' is composed upon the concept of making a difference. Huge bass pads bring out melodies that move and travel the audience while on the same time spacey strings and groovy drum patterns generate the antithesis that makes the energy circulate in this excellent track's veins. Thomas Schumacher's (Drumcode / Noir) approach is manifested upon pure energy. Advanced engineering and authentic inspiration meet, to create a perfectly blended dark-as-the-gates-of-the-underworld killer groove and fresh rhythmical elements, all mixed along to forge a track destined to stir bedrocks and definitely question their structural rigidity! D-Deck (Alleanza / Phobiq) inserts his life experience in music-making into his remix and totally transforms the track, generating a new existence. This is a 4 AM track, definitely made to move large crowds. Rigorous and stern, yet driving and melodic, it's based on a solid drum pattern that concludes to an epic buildup where all melodic elements join the harmony and add their own perspective to end-up in a huge drop. After beginning life as an experimental side-project for members Paul Maddox and Rich Wakley, Spektre find themselves over a decade later as established and respected features of the Techno landscape.  As a production outfit, they have recently released on such imprints as Elevate, Phobiq and Unrilis, as well as their own Respekt Recordings (now approaching it’s 150th release) to the acclaim of their peers, with the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl Cox and Alan Fitzpatrick among their plaudits. Their live exploits are also documented alongside guest slots from esteemed cohorts in a fortnightly Mutual Respekt Podcast, which is syndicated across the globe.
