Prizefight ends his run of originals on the EP with 'Procyon', a melodic masterpiece that strikes perfect balance between considered musicality and creative playfulness. Many memorable riffs and snowy pads fill the space without overcrowding, while enchanting chords lighten up the sky and leave the rest of the journey to daydreams and imagination.

Morning Light is the new 7-track EP by Naarm producer Prizefight, featuring 4 originals and 3 remixes by Naarm favourites Sam Alfred, Cybernet and STÜM. The EP is a gorgeous arrangement of trance and techno cuts that raise the bar for the new wave with impactful songwriting, dreamlike production and a distinctly unique sound. Touches of influence from dub, 2-step and prog can be heard throughout the release as Prizefight effortlessly combines these elements without being obvious or overpowering. Closing the release - Sam Alfred, Cybernet and STÜM apply their club masteries to the originals, serving remixes that take the EP to higher ground.

A blanket of stars littered the sky, it was clearer tonight than ever before. For many darkness brought with it fear but for her it brought peace and relief; she could finally see and hear everything around her. From her window she watched the constellations twinkle and flicker above and was reminded of how small we mere humans really were down here on earth.

We've quickly come to realise how wide the pool of talented Melbourne producers is. Spinning Around, an independent label also based out of the city, is one of the platforms helping to spread word of this further across the pond. For their next release they welcome Prizefight, whose put out a handful of self-released EPs and tracks, lands with a seven-track release that explores driving, reflective trance and techno, backed by three remixes from other Naarm producers: Sam Alfred, Cybernet and STÜM.

Inspired by a music festival at sunrise, the EP is a gorgeous arrangement of trance and techno cuts that raises the bar for the Naarm New Wave with thoughtful songwriting, immersive production and a distinctly unique sound. Touches of influence from dub and 2-step can be heard throughout the release as Prizefight tastefully utilises these elements without being obvious or overpowering. Closing the release - Sam Alfred, Cybernet and STÜM apply their club masteries to the originals, serving remixes that take the journey of Morning Light to higher ground.

'Feels Like Home' paints dub and future garage motifs against trance inspirations and techno formatting, creating an especially unique sound that's equal parts emotional and energetic. A low glide synth swings its weight below as rounded rimshots knock, before making way to choral vox synths that set a dark and dramatic tone.
