The notorious Tim Schuldt had an enormous influence on the entire Psychedelic Trance music scene. With his single called ANIMATRONIC, released back in 1997 on Matsuri Rec, he changed Goa Trance into Psychedelic Trance. Tim Schuldt left us a great legacy of many heavyweight tracks played around the globe for many years by the greatest psytrance DJs of all time. In this Zeitgeist, where music kinda lost that unique spark called “the storytelling”, the Belgrade psytrance apex predator DJ Aki aka SPECIES was awakened. The idea to retell the story of Tim Schudlt masterpiece craft, ignite the inspiration and fueled the energy for a long-anticipated comeback. His new double EP, entitled “HOMAGE TO TIM SCHULDT” has thus crash-landed into Canadian reputable psytrance label – TECHSAFARI RECORDS.

OHM SHIVA – It is one of the most haunting musical interpretations of the supreme Lord Shiva who creates, protects, and transforms the universe. The track manifests some kind of awe towards the deity. It is cold & heavy, like some kind of mechanical structure – frightening & divine at the same time. This nocturnal piece is made to be played under the endless dark sky covered by a billion stars. “Ohm Shiva” is not just a heavy-hitting weapon of choice for clubs and festivals - it is an homage to the immortal pantheon of the psychedelic trance spirit, which continues to live on through the prism of the new SPECIES productions.

FILE DAMAGE – There is no doubt that this is one of the most epic psychedelic trance track of all time. Its atmosphere, permeated with deviant harmonies, deserves to be carried through time so that such a masterpiece would not be forgotten. Aki Species took on the honor and the opportunity to pass that one piece of Tim’s genius to our new generations and connect them with the deep emotion of this new age psychedelic Odyssey. If Ohm Shiva is cold as ice, File Damage is Phoenix rising from the depths of the underworld. It is an absolute ace made to be played between dusk and dawn, where the night sky bursts under the first rays of the sun. This 138bpm stomper evokes the past via recognizable & profound atmospheres, simultaneously conjuring up the future with its majestic bassline & hypnotic leads.

Matsuri Digital is pleased to announce a release that is sure to excite old-school fans: Sandman's classic track Target Eye and Flight Or Fight in a live mix by the producer and another remix of Target Eye by Japanese trance legend Masa.

Sandman is a revered producer in the trance scene and his 1997 track Target Eye released on Matsuri's Resonance Mood compilation was a huge hit. Now, 23 years later, we have an amazing new live mix of the track. With Sandman's trademark evocative synth sounds, deep harmonies, and massive riffs, this exciting version of a familiar classic is a storming track that reminds us of old-school night-time parties under the stars. 

Masa adds his personal touch to create a completely different vision, with a funky, chunky, downtempo mix that has distinctive proto-Goa elements. Keeping key harmonic patterns of the original, Masa balances a mystical flavour with the tribal mood of his slower mix - a brilliant conception with a deep groove.

Rene &amp; Martin met in the mid nineties, when they were both were part of a Copenhagen based party-organiser-team called ROTUNDUM.
Both in love with the deep dark and slow tunes played in the morning at their parties, they also very much loved the twisted psychedelic goa-trance sounds that housed the night.
So when they decided to join musical forces in '98, it was a mixture of those two genres that ultimately led to the uniquely characteristic Beat Bizarre sound - not knowing that this new fusion was about to start a movement later known as "Progressive Trance".
This unique sound spoke to people from all over the world - so when LEWD was released in 2001 as the second album release from Iboga, it was an instant success, giving Rene &amp; Martin the opportunity to travel the world with their Beat Bizarre project and play at some of the greatest parties ever made!
The timeless sound of the LEWD album gives it a fresh feel to this day, and makes it a welcome addition on any psychedelic dance floors. The remastered sound gives this impactful album a newly polished finish, paying homage to its timeless place in the heart of progressive psytrance lovers, while also introducing the unique Beat Bizarre sound to a new generation of listeners.
