Johan Sebastián joins us for our thirteenth instalment of the series. Seville based artist has been into the electronic scene for a while now and his sound and vision has begun to take place in the last couple of years. Releasing his own tracks on Platform 22 and Canticle Records. 

His sound is faced paced, hypnotic and rhythmic with an added touch of 90's inspiration.

Johan Sebastian es un DJ y productor asentado en Madrid. Su carrera musical comenzó en Londres, donde se hizo un nombre en salas como Egg LDN, Bloc, Ministry of Sound y Shelter. A partir de ahí, tuvo la oportunidad de compartir escenario con artistas destacados en clubs de Europeos como Golden Gate (Nápoles), Fundbureau (Hamburgo) y Kremlin (Lisboa). Desde su llegada a Madrid, ha participado en eventos de Crow, NewFaces, Phase.CTV, Bunkers Collective, LoopStage, AlterEgo, Hölle y Oxtechne. Además de comenzar su residencia con Symbole Community a comienzos del 2023, donde sigue creciendo e innovando como artista en la escena local.



Su música ha salido en compilaciones  de diversos sellos Europeos como Platform 22, Canticle, Influenced, Beluga, PRTL WRX, Obskura y Re.flect. Sus 2 últimos EPs , disponibles en Bandcamp, reflejan su evolución como como productor. Cada una de sus producciones se enfoca en ritmos contundentes y elementos hipnóticos pensados para la pista de baile.



Su estilo abarca diferentes subgéneros del techno, los cuales van desde el deep/dub, hasta el sonido tribal y hardgroove de los 90s y 00s. Adapta su selección musical según cada momento, manteniendo una energía constante a lo largo de sus sets mediante transiciones fluidas, elementos rítmicos dinámicos y atmósferas envolventes

Joining me for this first special lockdown episode is Seville based, Columbian born Johan Sebastian. 

Meeting Johan a little while back I was struck by his passion for the scene and the music we love. Shortly after that he was showcasing his own event “Eighth Road” at London’s we’ll known BLOC venue.

following this I was invited to play at showcase alongside Johan, Szier and Siah. Where I see Johan’s talent exceed expectations with an incredible closing set after DJ rush. Since Johan has been pushing his own ideas in the studio which has lead to a brilliant release on our own Platform 22 imprint.  

On tonight’s episode I’ll be asking Johan more about his experience with showcasing events in London as well as his Studio set up and workflow. Plus what feeds his inspiration through this current situation

Parano is a 21 year old, self taught, producer from the Hague, Netherlands, who has been producing for just shy of 2 years. His artist name is Paranoid, but without id, as there is no real identity to his style or sound. Parano remains fluid with his style of production and djing, as it allows his sound to remain creative without being placed under one specific genre. Parano wishes that his true identity remains unknown.

We're very excited to present Duplicity 045 featuring a one hour techno masterclass, a hypnotic odyssey filled with delicately layered grooves and pulsating rhythms from Mannheim based artists Hedström and Pøl. 

Hedström and Pøl love to record together. Their sound is driven by riding percs and trippy synths which create their own kind of sound spheres. Together they have spent a lot of time on decks forging and defining their own wild mixing structures. 

They are both residents of the groove collective Schimmer Records, which is located in the Germany district of Stuttgart. The crew of highly respected producers and DJs is creating their own brand of sound bringing constantly new ideas on their musical journey.

As we spend most of our time at home we are delighted with DIEDE’s long and energetic SALON podcast. The founder of Nachtwerk based in Amersfoort, is rapidly building his way as an artist. His talent is not only recognized in the Netherlands as he played his first international gig in 2019 in Seoul’s infamous club Faust.

Besides his development as a musician, he also puts a lot of time into training his spirit through meditation which is noticeable in the way he selects his tracks and constructs his sets. This well-sorted balance makes the podcast very comfortable for the mind and body.
