Oh, the sea surges up to the steps,

Of course, you're just finding this out. 
You really should of known and had this all figured out by now.

If you'd just ignore our mistakes and stop pointing them out.

Drinking By The Sea

Come with me, girl, for a walk in the Heather.
I'll sip on the whiskey I bring.
I'll talk about nonsense and explain the oceans,
and find you don't think of these things,
simply why would i think of these things?

And I will pour scorn on the people I warned, 
about things that the future would hold.
And although I'm old this was no quest for gold, 
oh, my chip wouldn't let me get told.

A job and a family will take just a moment,

Cos, throughout this run, which was lacking in fun, I could not keep a track of the time.
And I didn't take stock, oh to turn back the clock wouldn't solve it this far down the line.

An extended take on a lone shaft of moonlight that frames our faces as we walk.
Or a massive extension and 2 or 3 holidays 
to make all of our neighbours baulk.

Oh, winning the race and shoving in their place was of no consolation to me.
Just trouble and strife and creation of life, feebly attempting at happy.

Just trying to fit in I lost out on most things and the worry could eat me up whole.

To say I really tried is a straight pack of lies, I just didn't decide where to go.

The Heather surrounds, as we avoid the town and I wish I could just speak my mind.
But the trivial things, try take over and bring, along other problems in a line.
Yet I briefly break out of the traps laced about by a thoughtless bastard in the past.
But it's no fucking good wouldn't escape if I could because a walk in the Heather can't last.
