Molten Moods releases another finely curated various artists record with tracks by Skee Mask, Kessel Vale, Jonas Yamer and Konrad Wehrmeister. Kessel Vales opening track "Voguing Geisha" is an unconventional breakbeat masterpiece following his sense of harmony and rhythm already shown through previous releases on Tanstaafl Records and Rhythm Nation. As the track unfolds it reveals musical storytelling by integrating a technoid polyrhythmic loop structure into melodic synth figures, slowly deconstructing in the end. Skee Mask collaborated with Molten Moods labelhead and Carl Gari member Jonas Yamer on "Fanta Ocean", it being the first release outside of his Ilian Tape homebase. The outcome is a moody IDM piece with cinematic qualities, complex but soothing. The B-Side begins with "Xenomorph" by Konrad Wehrmeister, who is known by his releases on Public Possession and SVS Records. This trancy yet distorted and detailed electro banger surely takes on the role of the records dancefloor highlight. The closing track "Insgeheim" is delivered by Molten Moods head honcho Jonas Yamer. Here groovy kicks, distorted chords and a psychedelic pad are woven into one compelling 10 am techno track. The common thread of Molten Moods 4 is four young Munich artists going on a joint trip into idiosyncratic electronic music. The resulting tracks intertwine as one modern and diverse techno record. Out on 12" vinyl and wav by the end of March 2018. Mastered by Manmade. In the tradition of Molten Moods' cost-conscious design strategies by Paul Bernhard, the record comes with a xeroxed low budget sticker set.

After numerous compilation appearances, the first half of 2018 saw object blue put out her first two solo EPs—‘Do you plan to end a siege?' on Tobago Tracks and 'REX' on Let’s Go Swimming.’ Their impact, next to her spellbinding live shows, was so significant that by the end of the year she was one of the most talked about new artists around. The reason is that the Chinese sound designer contorts her drum machines and smudges her synths with utter disregard for any rules and lands somewhere fresh and new; some grey area between broken techno, warped bass and experimental club. 

A sonic meticulousness always manages to shine through object blue’s work, despite what can often be carnage beneath the surface. And that’s the case with the one hour session we end the year with here: it’s a symphony of layers that variously sooth and seduce or rough you up with rhythm. Despite the shades of sound art and musical collage that are never far away, a dance floor narrative underlines the whole thing and will keep you moving well into 2019, a year which promises plenty for object blue.

Glacial Industries returns for 2019 with a club focused 12” from Cork born, Berlin based composer ELLLL.

ELLLL follows up outings on Art For Blind and First Second Label with “CONFECTIONARY”, a trio of technoid mutations. “PEPSI” + “SKITTLES” provide club ammo with their pulsing hard drums, whilst the eerie, off-kilter “JAWBREAKER” rounds off the release.

“CONFECTIONARY” releases worldwide on Glacial Industries on February 22nd. Available digitally and with a limited edition, full colour sleeved white 12”.

Spurz is a DJ and producer whose music threads together echoes of various musical disciplines to create a voice that is uniquely his own. His productions and remixes have been supported by the likes of SBTRKT, Mumdance, and Kastle, with his albums and EPs being applauded by Mixmag – who chose 'Loud Futures' as an Album Of The Month (goo.gl/3egj99) – and more.

As a selector, Spurz eschews a focus on a singular genre or sound in favor of finding interesting ways to connect the dots and build energy by pulling from a combination of experience and expansive knowledge, evidenced in his sets on NTS, Radar, Rinse France and Tim & Barry’s Just Jam.

Apart from his personal music endeavors is Drama Hands, a DIY label he co-pilots with long time friend Jesse Rhodes. Originally started in a basement as club night born out of bleak nightlife options in Edmonton, Canada, the label has blossomed into a platform for emerging artists with a roster focused on inclusion and diversity, echoed in the vast variety of music the label plays host to.
