The Berlin-based musician has music deeply embedded in her DNA, wielding a classical piano training background that clearly strengthens her musical endeavours. Her cleverness drive audience into breaks and Electro passages, to then softly ignite the dance floor with Dark Disco, New Wave and EBM. She's released on labels such as Crobot Muzik, Diffuse Reality, Nurse, Specimen Records, and many others. When she's churning out quality electronic music, she is slamming dancefloors in lauded Belrin clubs such as Tresor, Suicide Club and OXI sharing booth with Icons as Legowelt, Arpanet and Umwelt. Nico Cabañas, a.k.a SYNTHS VERSUS ME, could be surely considered a pioneer of the electronic alternative scene in north-west of Spain, buying vinyl records and playing as DJ since 1989.

Back in 1995, he’ve opened his first records and clubbing clothing store, ELEKTRO ILLUSION, combining it with DJ residences at several iconic clubs in the north of Catalonia. In 2014, along with his wife Vanessa (R.I.P), they started their own musical band project under
SYNTHS VERSUS ME alias, achieving an instant international success and being the founding motivation of ORACULO RECORDS, widely
considered as one of the world’s most influential vinyl labels speaking of nowadays darkwave, synthwave, post-punk and ebm, with over 100
releases, extremely desired by vinyl collectors.

As SYNTHS VERSUS ME he released 4 albums and 5 EP’s and he’ve collaborated and co-released/ remixed/versioned material with artists such as BOY HARSHER, THE NEON JUDGEMENT, ABSOLUTE BODY CONTROL, BLIND DELON, WIND ATLAS or GARY NUMAN.

In 2018, he’ve founded OMBRA FESTIVAL with his partner Raul Gayo, where they present one of the best dark electronic shows of the entire world.

Beside my deep desire for obscure italo disco, there's also a dark & shady side in me, which now has been revealed. Be prepared for a straightforward tin-soldier commando of robotic hammer synths and endless mono action which reflect "Proto" Techno in it's pure form. This dedicated selection was collected in a period of over 15 years and reflects my interpretation of alter ego GONZO, entering foreign territory to spend nasty nights in other spheres!"

Hello folks, after a short break on Soundcloud and some fulminant Blank Wave parties with Perel, Shubostar and Lauer, we're back again with a highly anticipated double feature: Welcome Andi, the New York City-based DJ and producer, who is also founder of the dark synth and industrial party and label, Synthicide. She contributed this marvellous exclusive mix for our Blank Wave series and is also playing her debut in Frankfurt on our event on Saturday, June 16 2023, at ono2 accompanied by Shia LaBiff. 

Andi now holds her ninth-year residency at Brooklyn’s notorious venue Bossa Nova Civic Club. Her aesthetic combines her devotion to underground 1980s industrial, EBM, new beat, and sleazy synth whose dark beats create an exciting soundscape that is unarguably danceable. She has DJed all over the world and is known in niche music circuits for her ability to mix together older tracks with new ones to create a diverse and unique set. Additionally, Andi is part of the ItaloMatic crew, a resident at The Lot Radio, and a resident DJ at the dark 80s new wave night, Music For the Masses.

Her own productions aim to challenge the expectations within the confines of the masculine EBM genre, often focusing on the ideas of revenge and strength through a woman’s perspective. Andi released her first EP, Corpse to Corpus, on aufnahme + wiedergabe in 2020, the Torque Force split EP with Randolph & Mortimer on Mecanica Records in 2021 and recently the EP Compelling Evidence on a+w. Now available for pre-order via Mannequin Records is her Parafernales EP feat. Machino.
