Greek artist @fragedis premieres their track breaks-infused techno track "Kliris" off the new Pi Electronics Splits vinyl series.

Split #1 marks the debut of a new vinyl series, to be hosted on the Various Artists catalogue of the label Pi Electronics. The Split series will be bringing two artists on the same vinyl, with this very first release presenting music by Greek producers Fragedis and Nemmett.

Despite different backgrounds of electronic music, Fragedis is a prolific figure of the Cretan islands’ dance scene, while Nemmett is one of the Athenean founding members of the ᾽π᾽ crew. Both artists premiere absolute weapons for this vinyl release.

On the A side, Fragedis delivers a techno/breaks cut of dystopian melodies and vocal samples with his opening track “Flantza." His second track, “Klirish” blends industrial leaning percussions with Detroit techno flavored synths.

On the flip side, Nemmett returns with his trademark industrial / breaks sound, in a hypnotic, rap vocal atmosphere with the track “Altars." His broken beat influences go more noise with his second track “Teeth”, which concludes the B side of the vinyl.

Among masks, ventilators, iron lungs and mass graves, oxygen is conspicuous by its absence.

As a premise, social discipline, endless opression to the point of not breathing. An asphyxiating virus, asphyxiating economy, asphyxiating authoritarianism, insane and suicidal reactions and total confussion.

In between, an innocent resistance arises, the opressed rise our heads to grab an air mouthful and express ourselves in the shape of rebellion, in the shape of music.
Patince running out and the need for movement after such a long quiet time emerges unstoppable with a dangerous and somber soundtrack. The restrained scream and the shy dancing gives space to the ancestral expression of rythm and repetition.
We found consonance among different cultures, artists from all around the globe make up this compilation, in an attempt to creat that vital oxygenation that makes us feel alive and this confronting whoever wants to impose and crush us.

Secondary Drive brings his second EP on Tales of Psychofonia with four avant-garde and highly atmospheric tracks. Aphasia is the second chapter of the Tales of Psychofonia trilogy, inspired by neuropsychological conditions and their impact on our memory, speech, behaviour and perception of the world. It is also a metaphor for the current state of humanity.

The three artworks of this trilogy are part of an artistic project made by the photographer Alejandra Vacuii.
