How to Hold Her

She doesn’t always speak
when her world turns upside down—
sometimes she leaves the room
without taking her body with her

I want to follow frantic
like a child who broke something inside
but I’ve learned some storms
are meant to be watched from the doorway

She’s got a past that knocks at my heart
wearing my voice my face my blame—
it’s unfair but fear doesn’t care
it just wants her to stay alive

[Chorus]
So I stay soft
like a blanket left on the couch
like a song low enough
to calm her heart down
She doesn’t have to speak
doesn’t have to explain—
my love will wait
my love will remain

When her breath starts to break
I whisper how to count again
Some days my love’s a lighthouse
some days just an open hand

And when she returns
fragile apologetic slow—
I tell her this isn’t her fault
she never has to glow

The Forest Sleeps – by Francess Harris

The moon is full, the snow is deep,
The forest creatures, fast asleep,
Though skies are dark and harsh winds blow,
The stars shine down on peace below.
 
For in this season, time stands still,
With nothing else to do until,
Spring arrives and melts the snow,
And new life sprouts and starts to grow.

For now, beneath the frozen ground,
Rest prevails and dreams abound,
‘Til winter winds all blow away,
The forest sleeps ‘til Spring’s first day.

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...
