Marcel Dettmann is a rarity in electronic music. His precocious disdain for rules has been one of the key ingredients for a decades-spanning arc that started sometime around the fall of the Berlin Wall (with early exposure to post-punk, industrial and synth pop) and continues to this day. His leitmotif is instantly recognisable, expertly layered, playfully syncopated, and though his influence is everywhere, no one quite manages to copy his pioneering sound. His formative influences surface frequently, serious atonal arrangements that follow the logic of EBM descending into a flurry of protean melodies; maybe this versatility is why, for a long time now, Dettmann’s sound has been so synonymous with a city in flux. One of techno’s true underground heroes, Function steps in with a mix that captures the essence of his club sound: deep, dark, hypnotic and intensely layered. Cerebral yet physical, this set distills over 30 years of experience into a rolling trip that’s as uncompromising as it is immersive.

Recorded in Berlin with a Xone 96, with Function’s signature sound design woven throughout, the mix bridges heavyweight classics and future-shaping material. Kicking off with Nastia Reigel’s massive new remix of his own Disaffected, it showcases three tracks from her upcoming debut album Identity (out September 26 on Infrastructure).

The selection runs wide: from Regis, Rødhâd, LSD, Nørbak, Nastia Reigel, Ignez, Rene Wise, Silent Servant, Alarico and UFO95 to unreleased gems by Filippo Scorcucchi - alongside Function’s own productions, edits and textures. Trunkline, the collaborative alter ego of Madben and Yann Lean, channels the raw spirit of ’90s rave into a stripped-down, groove-driven form of analog techno. Their sound thrives on texture, rhythmic interplay, and spontaneity—a live dialogue between machines and crowd. Performing fully hardware-based live sets, they embrace the art of improvisation much like modern jazz musicians, transforming every show into a living, breathing moment. Regularly supported by heavyweights like Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Paula Temple, and Ben Klock, their productions have landed on some of the most respected international labels, cementing Trunkline as one of the most vital techno duos of the moment.

∄ is a cultural institution in Kyiv, established in 2019 on the territory of a former brewery, located at 41 Kyrylivska Street. It serves as a multifunctional space for club events like ∄ Community Events, Curated By, Enareї, for experimental music concerts like Miasma of the Real and other cultural events.

∄ also manages the in-house music label Standard Deviation. Established in September 2020, Standard Deviation is a multidisciplinary label for music, art and publishing, cultivating creative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.

K41 is the community-born name of the institution embraced and widely used by the public.
