For this 136th Premiere of 2021, we have a track by the Israeli DJ & Producer Jack Carel called ‘That Wall’ from the Charity Compilation "Hand to Hand".

St. Petersburg based musicians Andrey Kinly, Anton Berezin and Grigory Babak have managed an independent electronic music VA named Hand to Hand to support the human rights organizations: Mediazona and OVD-Info.

“Things that happen all over the world cause a heavy impact on people’s lives, and Russia is no exception. The human rights situation in Russia is becoming more acute each year. We believe that the violation of human rights is unacceptable. With Hand to Hand VA we want to draw public attention to this problem and provide assistance to organizations involved in helping people faced with arbitrariness. We have brought together like-minded musicians who share the ideas of cooperation, freedom and unity.
All proceeds from the VA will be split equally between the Russian human rights organizations: Mediazona (an independent media platform focused on the judiciary, law enforcement and penal system in Russia founded by Pussy Riot members Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova) and OVD-Info (an independent human rights media project aimed at combating political persecution)".

The Hand to Hand VA geography is: Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Romania, France, Ukraine, Israel, Lithuania, Greece, the Netherlands and the USA.

We are thrilled to present the next release on our label: ‘Lost Melodies’ EP by Fau. The long-time BTS associate’s first solo release after an 8-year hiatus contains 3 original tracks, backed with remixes from jamaszka FT, Piotr Figiel, and ISNT.

‘Lost Melodies’ opens with the title track, the only non-dancefloor affair of the EP, in which afterglow bliss meets slight melancholy by means of synth pads, arps, piano, and delicate drum work. Things get into gear on ‘Rays Of The Purple Sun’ where a strong stepping beat and layered drum parts form the backbone for blissful yet moody synth-scapes aimed at entrancing the dancefloor. The final original track titled ‘This Robot Needs A Human Touch’ brings more funk through a propelling breakbeat and vocal stabs, met by yet more dreamy synth parts for a complete cybernetic romance.

Opening the remix set is an intricate IDM mutation of ‘This Robot Needs A Human Touch’ by the one and only yamaszka FT, who weaves drum breaks around an epic synth loop until full-on catharsis. BTS founder ISNT continues with characteristic heavy beats in her rendition of ‘Rays Of The Purple Sun’, smartly using distinct synth parts from the original to build an interesting arrangement. Finally, Piotr Figiel turns to his youth trance influences and delivers an anthemic yet understated deep techno version of ‘Rays Of The Purple Sun’, smoothly closing off the release.

Jauzas The Shining - Substance preview

In 2014 Bedouin Records, run by Salem Rashid and based in UAE at the time, invited Eomac to produce an EP for the label. In conversations between Salem and Ian (Eomac) it was decided that the most interesting way to pursue this was for Salem to send music from across the Arabic and Islamic worlds for Ian to sample and use as a palette of sounds to create new electronic and club tracks. The idea was to bring sounds and styles from diverse parts of the world to create music under the theme of 'oneness'.

It quickly became obvious that this was more than an EP project and it grew into the album 'Bedouin Trax' which was released in September 2016 as a double vinyl on Bedouin Records with beautiful artwork from Emirati conceptual artist Zeinab Alhashemi. Ian had written so many tracks that a second record was proposed at the time but for various reasons never came out.

Finally, five years later, this second collection of tracks - all made in those same sessions in 2014/15 with the samples that Salem sent - is now released to the world as 'Bedouin Trax II'. Twelve never before heard tracks that expand and continue the themes and sounds from the first record, combining Eomac's penchant for dark percussive rhythms with soulful melodies and dense sound design under the themes of unity and connection. Visceral music for body and soul.

Jonathan Krohn and Benjamin Mjolsness present their first recorded output since the 2020 appearance on the ‘Out of Practice Vol. 1’ compilation from Standards & Practices Records. 

‘Drummer’ expands on the work Krohn/Mjolsness began back in 2009 with their now defunct group Male. With minimal overdubbing and studio production ‘Drummer’ reprises the improvised spirit of their first performances and recordings.
