For musicians delving into sonic exploration, a defining moment arises in the learning, playing, and recording of a song. This process unveils the mystique of music, emphasising control and revealing the depth of simplicity. The technicality, grounded in contemporary songwriting, transforms into a quest for layered storytelling and a sonic aesthetic that authentically represents the artist.

Passerella, recorded over a week in the summer of 2022 by Infesta, draws from 80s synth pop, post-punk, and dark wave, infused with subconscious nods to Canzone Italiana. This raw, genuine work captures emotional intensity, presenting a dark yet relatable world. It transforms the conventional album into a musical diary, each track reflecting conflicting inner thoughts in a gentle, intimate narrative connecting the author with the listener.

The One Who Got Away

Synthium, the latest EP from HelenA MArkos, the creative force behind the imprint/blog Tales of Psychofonia, marks a significant milestone in her musical journey. Following a series of releases across notable labels like SOIL and FERMA, HelenA presents her newest artistic endeavour through Tales of Psychofonia. In this captivating six-track EP, she showcases her intricate experimentation with sounds, textures, and vocals, culminating in a special auditory experience.
Adding a unique twist to this musical tapestry are the dynamic remixers who have lent their exceptional talents to the project. The London-based artist Void Cells and the Berlin-based producer Secondary Drive have skillfully reimagined HelenA's original work, infusing it with their own signature styles and adding new dimensions to the tracks. Their contributions elevate the EP to a whole new level, enhancing the sonic landscape envisioned by HelenA.
Described by the artist herself as "just a pill against pain," Synthium embodies a blend of emotions, innovation, and experimentation that crosses musical genres. It serves as a testament to HelenA's creative process, inviting listeners on a transformative journey through sound.

One day before the official release of the EP, we premiere the track 'Arrogant Distraction'. Broken beats, cunning and unpredictable synth lines, unfolding alonsgide HelenA's condescending vocals.

We were born with the need to bring this type of music to this desolate land where nothingness reigns and nostalgia for the past, which ended a long time ago.
