Jack N Poy is a 5-piece alternative rock outfit composed of members from Metro Manila, Philippines.

Armed with the back-to-basics mindset of the 2nd wave of British rock led by the Libertines in the early 2000s, and the witticism, and apathy of 1990s indie rock, Jack N Poy's repertoire would seem to sound like an odd mess to most, and a beautiful one to the rest.

Born out of time in the 1980s-throwback era that is 2011, Jack N Poy is the brainchild of Jeromeio (Meio) Velarde, the band's main songsmith. It is a venture into a long-forgotten brand of guitar pop fueled by generous drenching in distortion and reverb. Going through the name NOUGAT at the time, Jack N Poy is the direct result of an unhealthy obsession with the once massive Britpop giants Oasis and Blur, and Ween-esque amalgamations of the real and the sublime. Songs in the Tagalog tongue are given the same priorities as the materials written in English because of the band's OCD-fueled "1:1 ratio of English songs to Tagalog" rule. 

In 2012, Nougat released "Nougat! No Glory!" a free demo CD and the first of many, in hopes that their oddball world will break through the real one in a comical Braveheart-esque fashion. 
After a brief hiatus, Nougat was rebirthed as Jack N Poy with Meio on vocals, Neil Lorena and Don Luy on guitars, TJ Meneses on bass, and Johann Kwan on the drums.
