Dublin duo Terriers have been slowly crafting their sound since first causing ripples in 2013. Last year they dropped House No 9 on Major Problems, which featured a searing remix from Tuff Sherm. Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that they had been the beneficiaries of the tutelage and patronage of Levon Vincent, spending three months under his apprenticeship in Berlin. This chapter in any act's narrative might prove an albatross - it's certainly more than just a throwaway titbit - but Terriers have continued to craft elegant yet rugged techno tracks, none more so than Believing The Crystal, which we premiere here exclusively.

Appearing on Octagon, the debut release of new Dutch label Rhythm Nation, it's both solid and nebulous, chunky grooves and washes of extra-terrestrial synth coming together beautifully. A direct yet emotive synth lune clambers to life while disparate elements shake and dance amidst the fog, offering just another taste of their undoubted gifts.

After last month's haymaker drop on Rhythm Nation, Dublin's techno trailblazers are readying their follow-up punch. This time it'll land on hometown imprint Major Problems - the label responsible for sharing their debut release, which resulted in them being handpicked by Levon Vincent for his apprenticeship program in Berlin.  

Second Labour of Hercules sees the duo delving deeper into the world of rusty percussion and bubbling aquamarine synthesis. Our pick, "Second Labour", is an eight and a half minute odyssey, slowly crescendoing to an all out sonic barrage.

Easy to Forget (feat. Ariel Pink)

I am a multi-instrumentalist and singer who studied at The University of Glasgow, graduating with an MA in Music and Film Studies. Here I received a varied musical education including training in sound engineering, field recording, composition of musique concrète pieces, practical tuition, and theoretical research on the relationship between sound and the moving image. A particular point of interest was the narrative and aesthetic function of sound and music in cinema.

In 2015, I relocated to Berlin to explore the exciting musical possibilities that the city has to offer. There I composed the scores and designed the sound for several theatre pieces, short films, web series’ and documentaries. On top of this, I co-founded indie/electronic band Last Days of Elvis and began releasing music under the alias Vital Sparks. 

I now reside in Melbourne where I have continued working within the world of theatre, film and advertising, as well as producing several solo releases.
