Installation Of 'Escape'

Three-piece Plaster of Paris have been throwing their oestrogen about Melbourne stages and about to embark on a national tour delivering high impact shows with unapologetic queer, feminist, DIY style producing 'riot grrrl post punk'. Their sound is based around slashing guitar riffs weaving with the powerhouse vocals of Zec Zechner, channeling a maelstrom through a wall of danceable, hard-hitting drums, meeting to form post-punk revival slash psych garage rock. 

Festivals include: Leaps and Bounds Festivals, Brunswick Music Festival and Wetfest II having played the Melbourne circuit refining their sound hitting the finest venues; The Tote Hotel, The Old Bar and The Grace. International supports include: Screaming Females (USA), Le Butcherettes (Mexico), MEN featuring JD Samson (Le Tigre) and locals; Cable Ties, Kim Salmon and Penny Ikinger.

'Lost Familiar,' 2021 full-length album OUT NOW via Psychic Hysteria receiving rave reviews from across the globe. Recorded w. legendary Casey Rice and Paul Maybury. Mastered by Nao Anzai, the album delves into body politics, climate denial, queer identity and states of physical and mental emergency.

Music style 
This music is strong, melodic and beat oriented and has evolved from the first icoro-sessions in 1996. It contains a blend of electronic and acoustic music instruments -  sometimes with voices - added sounds and sound treatments.
The music is based on the experiences accumulated by Anders Nästén and reflects many different styles of music that has been formed to a proprietary blend.

Impact
Early influences originates from 70´s hard rock as well as Miles Davis funk music from the same era. Electronic music from the UK, France and Germany also played an important role as a source of inspiration and modern classical composers are also very indicative for the music creation. Other sources of inspiration are too numerous to be listed.

Ambition and Technology
Music and technology are a close-knit unit and at times parts composes themself as a result of the circumstances created. Diverse music sound treatments have affected and renewed the arrangements. The music-making is based on a strong will to discover and an enthusiasm for trying out new musical combinations that all results in a pleasing listening experience. The music is unique and pretty easy to embrace.


icoro - music:

Pop Muzak
combines electronic sounds and rhythms with acoustic instruments, toy instruments and nonsense phrases.
The music contains changes in styles as well as changes from acoustic to electronic sounds.
Compositions are elaborate but rests on a spontaneous ground.

Mass Quality Music 
is a strong melodic and beat oriented music piece that has two eventful hours of playing time. The piece contains a mix of music with voices that creates some kind of urban industrial opera.

Process
is the sequel to Zoo and has a gloomier touch than its predecessor. The music may describe a path to change. The recordings were carried out with the same stereo microphones & location for - generally - all acoustic instruments.

"icoro-zoo" breaks down rock music into its components and rebuilds it; like a child building Lego with the building blocks of rock music.
Diverse music sound treatments have affected and renewed the arrangements.
This is pretentious music with an artistic ambition to fill a void; a fantasy journey that gives new impulses and visions. 

icoro - Omnibus
This music suite combines electronic sounds and rhythms with acoustic instruments and melodies.  
Sometimes the tunes has sharp throws and style changes and I have created a creative "wall of sound".

To put everything in balance is good, to put everything in harmony is better.

The fleeting moments to capture in sound, the kind of moments and memories that can only be experienced through music.
