Songwriter, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. His first credits were with The Roots' Game Theory (2006), for which he co-produced the title track, "Livin' in a New World," and "Clock with No Hands." Khari has continued contributing to Roots (Rising Down and Undun), Jill Scott, J*Davey, and Money Making Jam Boys, among others. After scoring the Sundance series Brick City and HBO Documentary Prayer For A Perfect Season, he released his debut, Wait for Sunrise, through his label, The Lunchroom. Soul Train named it one of 2012's best releases. Mateen’s also a member of Elevator Fight.

Extensive experience producing and engineering a wide range of artists throughout the Denver Metro area. Served as Tour Manager for The Procussions on the EA Sports NBA2K7 Tour featuring A Tribe Called Quest. Released two critically acclaimed independent albums with the group nGomA, with performances at SXSW for two consecutive years.
