DIE HEXEN is an Irish Academy Award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and sound artist, known for creating hypnotic, psychologically kinetic scores that blur the line between music and sound design. Their score for Fréwaka (2024) won “Best Original Music” at both the 2025 Irish Academy Awards and 2024 SITGES Film Festival, with The New York Times describing the music as sounding “like Satan’s playlist” and filmmaker Mike Flanagan (The Fall of the House of Usher) lauding its “wicked tone.” With comparisons to the likes of Mica Levi and Krzysztof Penderecki, critics have called their wider body of work "brilliantly indescribable" (Mark Kermode) and "arresting" (Variety).

Mentored by Grammy-winning engineer Geoff Foster, DIE weaves avant-garde orchestration and electronic textures throughout their work, with a sonic palette that spans Bronze Age horns, quartz crystal percussion, and the world’s only black Apprehension Engine (“The Nightmare Machine”). They are the first non-male to win the Irish Academy Award and SITGES for scoring a feature film.
