That’s how Juwee describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid of going from crazy party vibes to a chillout level, his musical selections are his own therapy.

Raised on sounds of the early 70s, hip-hop and reggae, he always tried to keep himself open to every kind of other music. After discovering Funk, Jazz and Soul, which as he sees it, is the major source of inspiration for most genres, the beat-bender started collecting records, making edits and finally ended up doing originals. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: bassline, hiphop, funk, chillout, drum & bass, house, trap…
Though he loves playing in nightclubs, festivals, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.

As a part of the Funkanomics he has been rocking parties all over the world and lighting up the main stages of Fusion Festival, Shambhala Festival, Natural Games Festival, No Stress Festival, Motion Notion, Zürich Openair and many more…


Plenty of hard work with his project Funkanomics got him release on several labels like Adapted Records, Fort Knox Recordings, Jalapeno Records, Bomb Strikes, Ghetto Funk, Rocstar Records, Manmade and many more.

this misguided musical journey spans over three decades, ignited by a transformative trip to England and the Netherlands in the mid-90s where he was formally introduced to the new sounds he was hearing and to the scene that was flourishing there. This experience sparked a passion that propelled him into the wave of electronic music that hit Vancouver Island in the mid-90s. On a radioshack mixer, an akai 612 sampler , Korg prophecy, a cd player, at the first rave on Hornby Island in 97 is where it officially started. It wasn't long after until the use of the technics 1200 became a standard in Joshua's dj experience. Live PA sets never resurfaced as the new cdj decks allowed for plays of original tracks without vinyl pressing. Unbeknownst to his most of his crew , many of his own tracks were then part of his vinyl-cdj hybrid sets. 
Later, he was taken in by the pioneering Djs at Stylus Records Victoria BC, where he played alongside the best local underground, international djs, and as a touring commercial DJ for over a decade.  However, driven by a desire to explore new sonic territories, Joshua took a hiatus from the dance realm to delve back into his genisis of music and pursue studies in music management and production to deepen his understanding of what lay before him.  Now, armed with a wealth of experience and knowledge, he's returned to his roots, once again crafting captivating sounds that resonate with audiences far and wide. Joshua is now producing under the name Motorcat , delivering a wide range of flesh moving floor fillers to calm and reflective jams. Motorcats debut release RSE is now available worldwide on all major platforms.

Since 2005 I do a little show called ECLECTIX, where I present all the music I like and where I talked.. ..a LOT! ;)

Mark Bayrock

It all began in 1997 when Mark picked up his first set of turntables. It wasn't long till he was making regular appearances at club nights and events around the city. Playing music that makes people want to move and shake is Mark's main goal as a DJ, and he accomplishes that by playing a diverse collection of House, techno, Electro and anything else that inspires him. In recent years Mark could be found making appearances at RaveAid, Intimate's NYE celebrations, Signal Saturday at the now defunct Lotus, and the annual Festivus Music Festival.

With over 15 years of experience behind the decks, Whitness has a passion for playing soulful, heart-warming music. She loves to read the room and create the perfect vibe with her tune selections whether it’s a lounge gig, a club gig, or a festival. Her favourite genres to play are house, lounge, old-school hip hop, funk, soul, and liquid drum & bass … all the things! She has opened for the Stanton Warriors, S.P.Y, and tagged with P. Digsss from Shapeshifter to name a few. Legend has it that some of her musical powers can be traced back to the fact she was born on April Fool’s Day. Her fiery presence in the DJ booth can be attributed to her ginger hair and sassy Aries attitude. Fun fact: Her favourite day of the week is Sunday, especially if it involves a Gin Caesar. Whitness is madly in love with all things vocal, deep and awesome. She can’t wait to share this love with you. xx
