Religion is such a sensitive and intense subject for people. I believe that everyone has their own path. I was raised Catholic, 12 years of Catholic school, I’ve studied the Bible. And Jesus was all about love and non judgement. I am an extremely spiritual person, however, I no longer consider myself Catholic because I don’t believe in dogma. I’m more of a Hindubuddhistian…. that’s right, I might put it on a t-shirt :) Spiritual beliefs from all around the world hold so much beauty, there is much to be gained from openness, from admitting that maybe our way isn’t the only way. I don’t believe that there is a human on earth that “knows”, without a doubt, the exact path the powers that be want each and every one of us to take, except to be kind to one another. 

When I read comments or see interviews with people that hide behind the Bible, that use religion to justify discrimination, judgement and hate, it makes me want to quit the internet. Instead I wrote a song. Hopefully I won’t lose too many friends because of this one, but this is what I believe…. my religion is love, compassion and kindness. I try to practice this every day, to choose love.

I have to send out a special thank you to @James Altucher for inspiring part of this song with his wonderful post a couple of months ago about Jesus.
