This song is a title track of my 20th single PLAY LOUDER. The genres are Alternative rock / Lo-Fi / J-ROCK. The moods are Happy / Motivational / Upbeat. The style is Experimental. The category is Happy & Upbeat. I wrote and recorded this alone in my room with a guitar, a synth, a mic and a PC in 2017. Bass by synth. This song was created when I was performing live alone in Nagoya and I decided to release this now to recapture the hungry spirit I had then. Cover art and MV by myself. This features Japanese lyrics, reggae-inspired vocals, Lo-fi and experimental sound design. The composition, the arrangement and the production were heavily influenced by Beck especially ODELAY. Double Vision

Wow, this is it, the final song I will be posting for the untitled album Stricknice, Bitzone, Wou-Wou & the Wormling and I have been working on! We posted the first song, “Ghosting Out,” from this set on January 4, 2021. I started this set of 12 songs in 2020, during the pandemic, using demo tracks that Wou-Wou graciously allowed me to use. I can’t, yet totally can, believe that it took 5 years to finish and finally post all the songs. I am still not sure if all 12 songs will be included in the album since the total run time is about 43 minutes and I like albums to be a little closer to 30 minutes. We still also need to decide on the track sequence. Eventually the album will be posted the album on Bandcamp for free. 

I have written it many times before and I will write it again, it has been an immense pleasure and honor and blast to work with Sticknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou on this set of songs. I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity.

The Bluebell Waltz

Nu Jazz that’s Chill with Neoclassical touches, some blues notes, and audio of songbirds, all driven by conga rhythms at 75 bpm. Written in the past week, a continuation of similar themes created in the past few months. An original composition, no AI, digital music created MIDI to DAW by a human.

I live in the Northern Hemisphere, where the sunlight wanes into the shortest day and the longest night on winter solstice. In this November song — in follow up to my Equinox song — I express the month’s gradual descent into darkness as daylight recedes to the increase of night.

The good news is that we know how the story ends; the light begins regaining its strength on the day after winter solstice. So there’s hope based on empirical evidence — scientific, objective reality that you can rely upon, thank goodness! 😀

NOVEMBER: A DESCENT INTO DARKNESS 
If I could translate the musical narrative into words, the following is what it would say.

The birds know winter is coming.
They rendezvous to flee 
like embers of a dying flame.
Autumn wind claws leaves, 
a lion untamed.
All tell stories of fading light.
Stretch, they cry, towards the setting orb.
Reach upward to compel
one last flapping
