Medicine was blessed to have the presence of Ninawa Pai Da Mata and our Huni Kuin family at our gathering this last year. Their music, ceremony, teachings and prayers were at the heart of everything that unfolded during those five special days in August. 

We felt moved to honour their offerings by commissioning a very special piece of music, produced using Niniwa's original words and composition, and remixed by Daniel 'el Suchi' Garcia. 

Nai Bai Sitimu provides the soundscape for our 2021 aftermovie, but is also a stand alone piece of musical artistry and we are so proud to share it with you. 

The chant is calling sacred beings from nature and is traditionally used to open a ceremonial space.

Ninawa Pai Da Mata is the Chief of the Novo Futuro Village, of the Huni Kuin people in Acre, Brazil. Ninawa comes from an unbroken lineage of powerful pajés and musicians, he has been on the shamanic path since he was born and has undertaken the highest initiations (dietas) of his tribe, some of which lasted up to a whole year of isolation and fasting in the forest. Considered a rockstar from the forest, he is a gifted musician and captivates people wherever he goes with his charisma and power filled with love and humility.


DANIEL 'EL SUCHI' GARCIA 

Born in Guatemala to a Mayan/Spanish family, Daniel is a professional established director and photography director based in San Francisco, California. 20 years of music producer experience and 10 years of diving into audiovisual content creation his past work has been focused on environmental socio-political activism. His creations have been exhibited in film and music festivals internationally and his music videos have reached millions of people around the internet world.

His most recent work with indigenous tribes from Central and South America focuses on indigenous culture preservation through documentation and artistic reinterpretation.
