Sweet Delight

the lyrics represent my personal conviction that the holy spirit which yeshva speaks of is the breath of life available now within the biodome of this planet. more than simply the air, the holy spirit also signifies the mind's attention to the act of breathing and a sense of reverence for the sacred qualities of the breath. in short - breath meditation.  in this way I unify the Christian mythology instituted in me during youth with my current spiritual practice. jung seems correct about the unconscious mind... I tried weeding out my old mythology during strictly intellectual years, but felt somehow cheated in the effort, my energy scattered. I came to realize the importance of the formative years of development , and to respect the archetypes that would remain important to me whether my higher reasoning approved or not. I simply needed to make these symbols and names mean something fresh to me. I began studying Aramaic, that tongue in which yeshva is said to have spoken the lord's prayer and the beatitudes. I got a spooky and amazing feeling as I studied and compared Interpretations...it was as if this teacher finally got a word in edgewise through the hubub of two thousand years of religious noise, and what I heard was so simple and wonderful as to put heaven right here In my midst - "at hand" as yeshva said of the kingdom of heaven. the holy spirit was finally tangible to me, it's power revealed and made immediately available in the simple and wonderful act of focusing attention the breath - the swinging door of zen.

down south MF kicking raw minimalist  Jams in my home studio using a Yamaha classical guitar, an Ibanez 3-string RG, a premier six string dinosaur from late 60's, a yellow Epiphone, a peavy bass and amp  and a mendino  child model drum set featuring wood shells and the crappiest foot pedal you've ever had the displeasure of playing. I record in reaper in my desktop with a boom and an audio Technica mic. these recordings are winged in through a frenzy of wires in rare spare time or between jobs or before picking up my children...or best of all...on those rare weekends I get to myself.  electronic tracks produced in an old version of GarageBand on an ancient  iMac G3. bless on up, thanks for listening.
