The 12 Valkyries are figures from the Nordic mythology - they collect the slain heroes from the battlefield and bring them to "Valhalla", the "holy hall".

This piece goes out to Isabella Charlotta Maria Zita Beneking, my little Valkyrie. Isabella, one of my identical-twin daughters, died in 2006, 2 days before her birth.
This tragedy is the main reason for the deep melancholy in my works.

About Intermezzo D'Anniversaire by Danae Vlasse: This piece is a Theme and Variations on the famous Op118 No2 Intermezzo by  Johannes Brahms. It develops my favorite 8 measure theme from the original work and was specifically composed in the style of Brahms. The second section in this piece is built on specific pitches such that it incorporates a message for the recipient of the commission "Joyeux Anniversaire Karen" ("Happy Birthday Karen").

Winner: MTAC Composers Today 2014 First Place in Composition "Advanced Work" Category.

Winner: Radio Music Awards 2016 "Best Classical Recording" Category.

Pianist Michael Hauber  (https://soundcloud.com/michael-hauber) from Stuttgart / Germany made another lovely recording of one of my "Prelude fantaisies", its  "No. 5", a short but very delicate piece, performed on a Roland RD 170. 
He played all 8 "Preludes fantaisies", so we decided to create a new album. I am sure you will enjoy it, as it contains some of my most extraordinary works...
