To say Stephan Zovsky's career started in 2019 would be wrong. It would omit any mention of the two decades of DJing he’s got under his belt already, with countless gigs all over the place. It would omit any mention of his 2010 album ‘The Village’, produced with long-year musical partner Sandro Schäufler. It would omit any mention of his first set as Green Lake Project in 2016. No, to say his career started in 2019 would be plain out wrong.

Yet 2019 is a milestone year in the life of this prolific creative from Mecklenburg Vorpommern, that rural North-Eastern corner of Germany. It's the year his ‘Connect EP’ is out on 3000Grad Records, the first of a perpetual string of releases. It's the year Stephan Zovsky starts his own label Sueslide, a launching pad for his growing musical output that finally meets his notoriously high quality standards towards himself. It's also the year ‘GLP’ drops - the debut album of Green Lake Project, his successful joint venture with Mollono.Bass.

His ever increasing skill level as a DJ and producer resonates intensely with the scene and its dancefloors: His tracks rank high in prestigious charts. His inbox is flooded with remix requests, some even from rather remote music scenes like Indie or Trance. He is invited to perform his Stephan Zovsky liveact at Fusion Festival's famous Turmbühne in 2021.

His diverse background and tireless productivity make it impossible to pin Stephan Zovsky down to a particular genre. Anyway, mentioning his name in one breath with the term ‘Melodic Techno’ doesn't make him frown; the terms ‘tool-like’, ‘DJ-oriented’ or ‘club-ready’ make him smile. You won't hear him playing obvious bawl-along hits, but neither will you hear him playing nerdy, overly intellectual tunes. His understated, functional style sits comfortably in the middle, making him the perfect prime time artist for those moments when it's all about no-frills, strictly-thrills dancefloor ecstasy.

Es wäre falsch zu behaupten, die Geschichte von Stephan Zovsky hätte 2019 ihren Anfang. Das würde verschweigen, dass er an diesem Punkt schon auf zwei Jahrzehnte als DJ zurückblickt, auf unzählige Auftritte an ebenso vielen Orten. Es würde sein 2010 erschienenes Album ‘The Village’ unerwähnt lassen, das zusammen mit seinem langjährigen Musik-Partner Sandro Schäufler entstanden ist. Es würde sein erstes Green Lake Projekt Set im Jahre 2016 unterschlagen. Nein, es wäre wirklich falsch zu behaupten, diese Geschichte hätte 2019 ihren Anfang.

Und doch ist 2019 ein entscheidendes Jahr für diesen umtriebigen und ideenreichen Charakter aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Es ist das Jahr, in dem seine ‘Connect EP’ auf 3000Grad Records erscheint, und mit ihr beginnt ein kontinuierlicher Strom von Veröffentlichungen, der seither nicht mehr abreißt. Es ist das Jahr, in dem Stephan Zovsky sein eigenes Label Sueslide startet, als unabhängige Veröffentlichungsplattform für seine immer zahlreicher werdenden Produktionen, die nun endlich seinem äußerst selbstkritischen Qualitätsanspruch gerecht werden. Es ist das Jahr, in dem 'GLP' erscheint, das erste Album von Green Lake Project, seinem erfolgreichen Gemeinschaftsprojekt mit Mollono.Bass.

Seine beständig wachsende Kunstfertigkeit hinterlässt in der Szene und auf ihren Dancefloors einen deutlich spürbaren Eindruck: Seine Tracks tauchen regelmäßig in viel beachteten Charts auf. Ihn erreichen immer mehr Anfragen für Remixes, sogar aus recht weit entfernten Szenen wie etwa dem Indie- oder Trance-Umfeld. Er wird mit seinem Stephan Zovsky Liveact auf die sagenumwobene Turmbühne des Fusion Festivals 2021 eingeladen.

Mit Blick auf seinen vielfältigen Hintergrund und seine unermüdliche Produktivität ist es schlichtweg unmöglich, Stephan Zovsky einem bestimmten Genre zuzuordnen. Wenn wir ihn in einem Atemzug mit dem Begriff 'Melodic Techno' erwähnen, dann runzelt er zumindest nicht die Stirn; wenn wir Begriffe wie 'toolartig', 'DJ-tauglich' oder 'tanzflächenkompatibel’' verwenden, dann schmunzelt er. Vorhersehbare Mitgröhl-Hits gibt es von ihm ebenso wenig zu hören wie allzu verkopften Frickel-Sound. Mit seinen funktionalen und doch subtilen Sets passt er ideal in jene Art von Spitzenzeit, in der es ganz ohne Hype und Schnickschnack einfach nur gediegen zur Sache gehen soll.

Stephan is based in Berlin and DJ since 2004. It doesn´t took a long time till he got his first residency at the famous Glamnight-Parties  in his hometown Bayreuth. In 2009 Stephan moved to Berlin, started producing and played many Gigs in Bars and small clubs like the KingSize Bar or the Rekorder Club. Step by step his ongoing journey has placed him as an integral part of Berlins techno and house artists. 

Stephan is also a resident of the legendary House of Lunacy party at Club Renate in Berlin and of the Kommune Open Air which takes place in his hometown Bayreuth. 

Moreover his skills as a DJ gained him an international reputation so he already played in Tulum, San Jose, Ibiza, Thailand, Macedonia, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Uruguay and at Sonar Barcelona to name a few.

Stephan´s first release came along in 2015 and was released on the swiss Label ShikkiMikki Records. Several releases on labels like Lapsus Music or Bob Sinclar´s Yellow Productions, just to name a few,  followed. Stephan has re-focused back on the essential groove and swing of the music that got him into all this in the first place. His most valuable release was „Choose One“ which entered #3 on Traxsource Tech-House Charts. 

The future looks bright for Stephan. His first album is in the making and many releases will follow.
So stay alert for open source inspiration, wild parties, sweat on the walls and a plenty of 4/4 bassy music!

"Musik kann Gefühle oft besser erklären als Worte" - das könnte man auch über die Arbeit des Neubrandenburger Produzenten sagen, der schon sehr früh durch seinen Vater seine Liebe zur Techno-Musik fand. Sich selbst zu definieren gehört zu den schwierigsten Aufgaben der Welt. Um ein passendes Wort zu finden, welches Markus und seine Musik beschreibt, muss man ihn sehen und erleben. Kommt vorbei. Hört! Tanzt! Genießt! Macht euch selbst ein Bild vom jungen Neubrandenburger und seinem musikalischem Gespür und mit ein wenig Glück findet jeder von euch sein eigenes Wort, um Markus zu beschreiben.

"Music can often explain feelings better than words" - this could also be said about the work of the Neubrandenburg producer, who found his love for techno music very early through his father. Defining oneself belongs to the most difficult tasks in the world. To find an appropriate word which describes Markus and his music one has to go see and experience him. Stop by. Listen! Dance! Enjoy! Get your own idea of the young Neubrandenburg based DJ and his fine musical sense. Eventually, everybody will find their own word to describe Markus.

CORD LABUHN [Robosonic | Outtakes | Punchi] 

Cartoon life - At six years old, CORD LABUHN had his first real career aspiration : becoming an ‘inventor’. Or space traveller. At least working in some kind of laboratory. Hence he became a producer of beats, tunes, records, imagery & merch - and toured the whole planet to play music for the most spaced out...
Earlier, when the ghost of Jimi Hendrix jumped out of his parents record collection and passionately promoted the guitar as the weapon of choice for a leftist punk, folk, if not eurodance infected teenager of the 90s, the piano and his sister’s drumset would have to step back for a while. 

A few years later when TV was still the thing and gaming consoles like PS1 were battling N64, Cord the Beatmaker was rather staring at tiny AKAI S2000, MPC and CRT displays, head-nodding, turning the jogwheels, dreaming of a second turntable to complete his DJ setup - the true school, golden age hiphop way. Next mission - still as a school kid - was a self-released vinyl record with international distribution through a self-founded label – learning everything from scratch, only a few years before DJing went 99,9% digital, crazy fast and globalised anyway. 
Arriving in Berlin and founding the mashup label „BROKEN BOOTLEGS“ (with Exploited’s Shir Khan and Andy Szankay) was good sparring for more delinquent ventures in professional sampling culture. Musical diversion had found an anarchic playground, genre-bending seemed to be a welcome concept for a radical open mind.

To date, his longest running project is ROBOSONIC, which was originally formed as a DJ-producer duo together with Sacha Robotti more than 10 years ago. Over the course of time it became Cords solo moniker in the dance music game, since his former partner had emigrated to the US for a fresh personal start. 
A while after the unconventional, free-spirited debut album „Sturm und Drang“ (2007) Robosonic took the world by storm with a string of popular tunes and remixes that went into the crates of tens of thousands of DJs worldwide and made it to top spots in the infamous Beatport charts (“Worst Love”, “The Edge” 2012, “La Fique” 2013, “House Music” 2015, “Rise” 2016). With releases on labels like Defected, Toolroom, Get Physical, Diynamic, Stil vor Talent, Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi, Nervous, Crew Love, Kittball or Mother Recordings, ROBOSONIC became an authentic figurehead for something dubbed “Golden Era House” (Juice Magazine). Not only because Cord was convincing real rap icons like Masta Ace, Jeru the Damaja and KRS-One to collaborate on house tracks, but also because ROBOSONIC remixed true legends like Todd Terry, Arthur Baker, Kerri Chandler and Eddie Amador.
The house & techno driven sets and records under the R°° flag are internationally recognised and performances in 45+ countries (and counting) reflect the universal appeal of a trademark sound Robosonic unleashed into the world. North & South America, most European countries, South East Asia, China and Russia, Egypt down to South Africa, Dubai to Australia, Lebanon and Israel. Cord Labuhn has seen and pleased hundreds of stages, clubs and crowds over the last years. And with the string of new Robosonic releases through Defected, Kittball, Mother Recordings and more it becomes clear that he won’t stop shedding club sweat and tears.
